A couple of things:
1. I moved this thread over to the
Disneyland Community forum, as the main Disneyland forum is more for trip planning-related threads and this is not a trip planning-related subject; and
2. I love Toontown (I really love Car Toon Spin) and I will be glad if it stays, though it needs some work. However, to be honest, just because Disney said that Toontown is not being "replaced" by Star Wars Land, and that the speculation is "unfounded," if you read between the lines it doesn't necessarily mean that the land is safe down the road. Right this second it is safe. They can't guarantee that anything is ever safe -- they have no idea what plans may come to fruition in a few years. Right now, the plan seems to be to build Star Wars Land behind Toontown and leading over to the Big Thunder Ranch area. The whole Ranch and Festival Arena would have to be torn down -- including the BBQ restaurant, I'm sure.
However, there will probably have to be at least 2 access points to the land -- if not 3 -- and I doubt that the only entrance to it will be where the Ranch is. I'm sure that there will be another access point somewhere between Fantasyland and Toontown, or maybe directly in Toontown. Toontown would have to be 'clipped,' for lack of a better word, if not rethemed -- to allow for some sort of entrance point that makes sense, thematically.
I would like for Toontown to stay, but it has been neglected for a long time. It almost seems as if Disney doesn't want to do anything to improve it because they know that it is disposable and that it probably won't stick around forever. I would be very shocked if Toontown survives for another 10 years, but if it does it needs some attention!
