Impromptu May trip?? Thoughts?

I am thinking about a mother/daughter impromptu trip this mid/late May. I'm a bit nervous about the crowds. So far, I have found good airfare, and the rates at both ASmu and AoA look good.

Talk me out of it or talk me in to it!! I feel crazy planning something so last minute, and I'm nervous about the crowd levels. We also think we might try to go again in September, so if we don't make this trip it's not the end of the world (we bought AP's last Jan).

Well our last trip was in May and we loved it, so we have chosen this time again. It was certainly more crowded than our October trip but certainly manageable.

If you go in mid-may it should be fine. I am going on the 6th through the 12th and it is generally expected to have crowd levels of 5 almost every day. Now, if you wait until it gets close to Memorial day, crowds are going to go way up.

I've gone various weeks in May the past... three? trips (and again this May) and I haven't had any issues with crowds. I mean, it's not going to be like going in January where you practically walk on to every ride, but it's not going to be shoulder to shoulder either. I'm also not terribly impatient and I readily accept that part of going to Disney is waiting in line.

Gosh, if I could afford an impromptu trip, I sure as heck would jump at it. Life is short. I wouldn't let "fear" of a crowded WDW keep you from having fun.
