Impressed with VMK player behavior

That is a very good point... I'm pretty sure they had planned to let the quest run all day, but changed it seeing just how many people were winning. :sad2:

Yavn claims that the quest was ended early because of cheaters, essentially. I don't care what his reason was. That should never have happened.

Anyway, that's getting off topic. I just hope we can see this kind of cooperation in the future from VMKers.

you just better hope none of my bff's are reading or your probably already banned

I might put a good word in for you if you give me free rare :goodvibes

That's fine. I don't have any rare to give. I finished Jungle Cruise at no.on plus too minutes, remember! :upsidedow

Yes Yes and Yes!!! I believe through a really stressful and difficult quest experience arose what this game is about for many of us - friendship. VMK, for many of us, is a fun escape and a chance to relax with friends and have fun playing games. This quest seemed so defeating, until King and I began working with our dear friends. Was it still difficult? Yes, but we spent the time helping one another and we found some new friends became better friends. Everyone in our group made sacrifices to get players through. In the end, with the sudden change in end time, we still had a few who didn't make it. And already some people are stepping up to offer something to those friends. Thanks to all of you who helped us get our family through. We found that we have some truly wonderful, amazing friends around us and that takes away some of the sting of this quest.

I just wanted to add that we also think VMK underestimated the power of the community when it works together. I am suspicious that perhaps too many of us were passing this challenge and ten more hours would put many more through.

That being said, Big hugs to all of our friends. As I write this I am reminded of the best thing about VMK - wonderful friends. :grouphug:

I would like to add, that " y'all are .. the best of friends!" and hopefully several would agree with me.

Yes

I totally am thinking the same thing. I think they totally underestimated us ;)

At least they did pick up on the good aspects that came out of this not just the bad. :) Yay for us!

You know... Looking back at the most dreaded vmk events that make us all grown... I always have good memories that far outweighed the stress and disappointment.

In each instance I can recall far more happy times being silly with friends than I truly remember the "bad". I'm actually a little sad not to be fighting to continue someone else through.

And although a few stinkers did cross my path this weekend and some sadness for those who didn't make it- I saw a lot of generosity, compassion, and comradery.

Hey and how better to bond than common frustration. I know I banged my head on the wall with friends, got to chat with friends I had not seen since the last team ride competition- and even learned the importance of "not pulling a briar" when questing.

I liked hearing of all the people coming to the rescue of friends and aquaintences- and I was really happy each time I saw someone else get past a mark.

Ok - shut up now.

I experienced it first-hand with the "Rurple" quest, as well as over the past few days with this quest: Friends carrying friends over the finish-line in any possible way we could think to do it.

We rallied together, found friends in casual acquaintances, helped other irregardless of clique, presumed age, or skill level. The "we are in this together" spirit brought many of us closer together and when the dust settles, those will be the memories that I will choose to keep from the last few days.

I never could have done it without a few of you out there... and I hope someone out there is thinking the same with me in mind.

- Dreams

P.S. If anyone sees a runaway, homeless dog with a key in its mouth, I would LOVE to offer it a good home. It escaped from me during the pirate frenzy. :upsidedow

...that there was a place in a very hard quest for my only POTC strength: Swimming around and not shooting!

I had the privilege of helping a few DISers pass through task #16. :cool1:
That was a heck of a great feeling! :thumbsup2

haha

Task #16 will go down in vmk history!

heh, NOPE, I wont let the minority spoil it, the majority were superstars from where I was sitting... and sitting... and shooting... and nedding... and shooting... and sitting... and... what day is it anyways? :rotfl:

OMG where are my BFF's! Hula? Lily? Fin? OMG even hurry hasnt called me @_@

That was what was so wierd never saw a host event in the last few days. Too busy.

Yes it was amazing that we broke down our differences to help other players.
I believe we all did :)

The amount of team work and plain stubborness to leave no one behind. To make sure at least on person per family got one. The tears of happiness and the groans of despair.

That was awesome. I am sure Walt would be smiling down on us for that.

But I almost choked tonight when they annouced pirates and princess party.

Now I am all for princess but I put my pirate stuff to bed last night ( to many bad dreams of krakens and finding no gold balls anywhere shooting all my teamate to get to the final round and be all alone:lmao:

PS anyone in pirates today needs a visit from the white coats :lmao:

Oh and I have some extra hats for you too.

Besides the amazing dedication I witnessed from this community, true satisfaction came when I read the newsletter. It appears we may have frustrated VMK as much as VMK frustrated us. Now that my friends is a true testament to the character of the people on these boards. :thumbsup2

Bones pirate:

I am still in utter shock! I was so sure that my husband, son and I were going to make it - especially with karma playing a role - being selfless and helping so many across the finish line.

Like I said in my iniitial "I'm sick" post - I am very happy with the friends that I made. They were really very wondeful ppl who when the going got really tough last night, stuck it out to make sure that the last of us got thru pirates.

Adex, Hakihea, dewella, BlackHatFaer and ocassionally Princess_Ali and BreeMarie were all super great players with LOADS of patience ;) Some who were past the finish line and could have removed my family from their list and not looked back didn't - they checked on us and offered help. Thanks to all!

He is not punishing the cheaters they got it already.
He is punishing the honest players, and he knows it.

Yeah they got their loot already - it didn't take them any time to load up in the pirate lobbies and make sure that the honest ppl couldnt' make it in. Had it not been for hours of wait time in q we might have actually made it!

Some of these ppl were actually bragging about the "easy quest" and laughing with their sliver ears on and talking openly about the fact that if they kept all lobbies full that others couldn't finish quest making their stuff more "rare".

But - let's reward these morons and tell all the hard workers to bug off :(
