IMPORTANT: Pirate and Princess Party

Have any of you ever been?

Our next trip to WDW is very soon. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to save $50 to go the P&PP. I really want to go, but not if it is lame, lol. We are going as a HUGE family trip (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents), so I know that most of my fam will not want to go. Therefore it will take some extra...erm...persuasion (read: fighting) with my mom to get her to let me and perhaps my brother go without the family. (He is 12).

So please, reviews, info, stories...you name it, I want to hear about it!

Also, how imperitive is a costume? How elaborate do people get? I would LIKE to dress up, but I know I have very little time and very little $$$ to put stuff together.

I probably wouldn't dress up maybe just a pirate hat and shirt or a princess shirt and tiara.
There were older kids dressed up there.. but I probably wouldn't.
But I think it's cute when younger kids dress up.

When I went in August it was WELL worth it.
5 minute waits for every ride. It was awesome.
And we got free candy. XD

I heard the fireworks were amazing? What is so amazing about them? (Note: I cry at Wishes and Illuminations anyways, hahaha, no lie).

Also I heard about a diff parade or something? Is this true?

The fireworks and the parade was both different from the usual fireworks and parades.

The fireworks.. my family loved them and we usually do not watch the fireworks.

We didn't watch the whole parade. But what we did watch was good.

I would deff. watch the fireworks.. they are amazinggg.

I started watching that and stopped myself because if I DO go, I want it to be a surprise! Thank you so much for that link tho! If I don't go, at least I know I will not miss out on the WHOLE experience.

The Party is AMAZING! We went in August and are going again in Feb (late though, so not when you two are going!). It is well worth it!

I was planning on dressing up in August, but didn't have time to throw a costume together. This time around, however...that's another story.

I found a very Cinderella-esque prom dress on sale for $15 because of a broken zipper, so my mom just decided that we're going to safety pin me in for the night! I've just got to find shoes to match! I've already got a tiara, too. We're taking a friend and we're hoping to get a good deal on a dress for her, too.

my nephew had fun.
i guess im more of a mnsshp baby and i wasn't all that impressed. dress up though, it's funner if you do. :] and the fireworks were just...amazing. wont give it away but you'll be sad you missed it. the parade wasn't anything special it was just "...heres your favorite characters! watch us recycle floats!"...sorry..im a little bitter about a certain someone being in that parade.

i'd say, try it. especially if you like the parties they have. you get a cool velvet bag and beads/candy all night if you go.

I was at wdw last year, my DD is 8 and we wanted to surprise her, so booked the Pirate and Princess party. Best money I have ever spent at Disney.

Seriously it is Fantastic! The parade is a one off, as you wont see it unless you go, the fireworks are fantastic. And because it is a ticket only event the rides are so quiet. We got 3 walk on's in a row at Space mountain. Same with most other rides!

The cast were fantastic, my DD got to meet ALL the princesses, She dressed up in a princess outfit, and got so much extra attention as a result I would recommend getting a costume if you can.
