I have 1 contract at BCV and am looking to add-on at VWL. My UY is Sept for BCV, should I add on with the same UY? Explain why it's helpful to have the same UY vs. another UY.

Thanks.

Are you planning on doing your add-on via resale or from Disney?

If you are planning on doing your add-on via Disney: Then if you have the same UY, they will put the add-on on the same master contract. The advantage here is that at the 7 month point, you can use points from either contract and even combine points from both for a night.

If you are planning on doing your add-on via resale: Then if you get the same UY, you also need to make sure that Disney assigns you the same contract number: i.e. they share the same master contract. If this is the case, then at the 7 month point, you can use points from either contract and even combine points from both for a night. (same as resale through Disney but you need to make sure that you have the same master contract.)

If you have different UYs or the same UYs with separate master contracts, then you can't combine points with out doing a transfer.

The more UYs you have the more you have to be concerned about transferring points between the contracts. Then you have to worry about the banking issues if you ever need to bank.

Thanks guys this information is very helpful, I didn't know that you could combine pts at the 7 month period, as long as you have the same contract number.

Is the price through Disney still $104 a pt? I've changed my mind and am thinking of adding on at VWL instead of BLT (that's if it becomes a DVC).

Thanks.

When I added on I chose the same use year because I felt it was easier to manage one use year. Same day for banking deadline, new point allotment, etc. I think that multiple use years are too confusing to keep track of!

To the OP: To do this with resale, you instruct both the broker (example: The Timeshare Store) and escrow (example: Timeshare Closing Services) before the deal is closed to have Disney put your new resale add-on under your master contract number.
