Immigration check on Western?

Maybe somebody has already asked this but here it is, on the eastern all passengers must go through immigration before anyone can disembark at St. Thomas. So do passengers have to present themselves before debarkation in Florida? The reason on the eastern is that the ship was at foreign ports then back to a US port. On the western it is Key West but then two foreign ports and then Castaway which is in the Bahammas. So is there an immigration check at debarkation? Kathy

The only "immigration" check is at Port Canaveral. Most passengers just disembark with paperwork filled out. If you exceeded the purchase limit you have to report early. The Eastern check is because the ship docked in foreign ports and then US again.

Yes, I know the reason for the eastern check that is why I asked about the western because the first port of call is US, all others are foreign ports before the ship gets back to Florida. What made me think about this was my sister just got back from a cruise that started in San Juan (US port) and the entire ship had to go through immigration before people could disembark to go home. And yes, their last port of call was a foreign port, just like on the western DCL cruise. That surprised me since our only check out process in the past was to fill out the custom form but they had to also show their passports. She was on RCL. So I wondered what the immigration check would be.

With the western itinerary, the first port is a US port (Key West) then foreign ports of Grand Caymen, Cozumel and Castaway then home. The ship would have a foreign port of call before docking back at Port Canaveral. It is nice to hear it is just the fill out the form and claim what ever you bought. That I know how to do and I hope we don't go over this coming March like we did last March. Although I did have a grand time shopping even if we did have to pay some duty, it wasn't bad.
