Lisa, I sympathize with you. You're in a terrible spot. But I'd tell you to go with your gut on this one. If you break down and loan her the money, I'm pretty sure you'll never see it again. She'll "forget" just like she "forgot" to take care of this thing. Never lend money that you can't afford to walk away from. You've had enough experience with your mother and money to know how this will end. If your sibs have a problem with it, let them go bail her out this time.

Exactly my thought as well. This is your mother; she's obiously old enough to know better, and it's CERTAINLY not your fault that she doesn't.

I hate to advocate the overuse of credit cards, but does mom have a card that she can put the charge on and then pay off gradually? If they want cash, does she have cash advance priviledges with a credit card? Then it would be her problem to pay off but she could get rid of the warrant.
