DH and I are super excited for a movie opening next weekend... and wanted to know which would give us the best movie experience. Other than John Carter, we haven't seen a non-Pixar movie in the theaters since...I honestly don't remember when. i think it might have been POTC3.
Anyway... cost is about the same, so it comes down to the experience and quality. So if have had experience with either one, I would love to hear opinions!
DBOX- I thought it seemed kind of gimmicky, but DH thought it might be nice. Plus, at the theater around here that has it, the entire top half of the theater is all DBOX seats. And they do the reserved seating, so we can get good seats without getting there early. Oh- and the whole no kids thing! (If i am on a date, i have left my kids at home. I don't want to listen to yours!)
IMAX- I remember years ago watching Apollo 13 on the IMAX at the space center- long before the days of first run movies and IMAX 3D. It was awesome. My concerns about IMAX are:
1. Does the quality stay consistent with the gigantic screen?
2. Does the movie curve at the edges with the curve of the screen?
3. Can you even see the whole movie at once, or are your eyes trying to dart back and forth to catch it all?
