My mother and I bought a lot of 100 Disney pins and got four of these pins with duplicates. She wanted me to post on here to see if anyone knew anything about these pins. Here are some pictures of them:

They're Imagineer Pins and they do not have any markings on the back except LE numbers.

Thank you in advance.

Wow those look neat! Surprising they don't have any other markings? Official Disney pins should ALWAYS have "Disney" written on the back. If they don't, I would doubt their validity as official pins.

They do have the official Disney logo on back, but they do not have the "Trading Pins" brand that you'd see on generic pins. They seem like they'd be from a CM lanyard, but I asked my friend who works there if he'd seen them before, he said he's never seen them. :confused3

Oh sorry! Misunderstood! Sorry I can't offer more than shared interest in what they are!

they're WDI pins. there's a shop at WDI called Mickey of Glendales that only CMs (and those on the backstage magic ABD tour) can visit, although technically the pins are also often available for purchase on the hub (again, CM only)

see http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/group.cgi?group=4256

you can click on any individual one for more information

Those are Cast Member pins, although pins like that and other Cast Member pins can also be purchased on Ebay. That's how I have alot of the Cast Member pins which are in my collection.

Sometimes Mickey's of Glendale has clearance sales on old pins. It's likely (but not certain) that a CM purchased these clearance pins for resale on eBay (also a termination offense, IIRC).

Well some how all kinds of Cast Member pins make it onto Ebay and I assume it's hard for WDW to tell someone at Ebay to take down the auctions, because there are so many going on.

Checkout pinpics.com. The badge pins you got have been scrapped (meaning fake pins have saturated the market). If the top of the pin is missing the glossy coat, then you have a scrapper.

specifically, scrappers generally refer to overruns. a factor is charged with making a run of LE pins (or just whatever number ordered) and instead manufactures above and beyond the required number for other uses. also the term itself refers to pins that have been rejected due to defects and whatnot, i.e. scrapped.
