That’s nice to do on Christmas Eve. We used to walk with our sons around the neighborhood. It’s 23° here right now. However, it had been 15° earlier, so it’s getting warmer now.

It was a nice walk.....several cars passed and yelled Merry Christmas.
Lots of great yards and our neighborhood has a lot of luminaries.

...it had gotten down to a frigid 6 degrees but it's slowly warming up...it's about 30 right now.

We'll be in Florida around that time too, but not to go to WDW.
My DD19 will be playing for a week in Melbourne, but we may take some time to drive to Orlando after her games are done. Maybe we'll run in to you there

Happy New Year, gaming friends

I, prepping for the family to come over for a lunch of appetizers.

I’m taking down all the Christmas decorations this weekend - one of my least favorite jobs of the year. Every January I say I’m not going to decorate as much and then every year I do as much as the previous year. I really shouldn’t complain, because everyone enjoys the decorations when they are up.

@slo , right about taking Christmas decorations is not fun. We should be getting home tonight from our NYE trip to WDW, and taking down our Christmas decorations is what we’ll be doing tomorrow. We like having the house decorated, we enjoy hosting family and friends and recruits, so it’s definitely worth it, but a bit sad when we have to take things down.

We slept a little last night on the auto train. It was delayed leaving, so we used the time to go up to Blue Springs SP in Orange City FL, and we did see manatees there.

...we already took down one of our trees [in the family room] and the lights on the exterior of the house...now my 'coastal' tree has to come down...

I'm feeling the same way. I started taking stuff down, but life got in the way...I still have stuff piled on the dining room table, and was thinking just yesterday "next year, only the tree"

I love manatees - they are so peaceful to watch.
In 2019 Kevin and I were driving in Florida (Gulf side) and saw a sign saying there was a manatee viewing area. So we followed the signs and came to a hidden area that had hundreds, maybe over a thousand manatees, it was so awesome - we’ve never seen anything like it and we’ll probably never see anything like it again, since I don’t remember where it was - LOL!

I’m still doing the Great Christmas Take Down today - I only got 50% put away yesterday. After my coffee I’m going to get started again - I’ll definitely be done by late afternoon. As I was sitting in church last night I was thinking how I may take decorating for Easter off this year - I mainly decorated for my kids, but with no kids here for Easter, I may not do it (my DH won’t care what I do either way). We’ll see how I feel after Ash Wednesday - I may change my mind.
