Our tradition every year is to watch this movie after our Christmas meal. Our adult children also do this when we’re unable to be together for Christmas.

We live in Cape May NJ, home of Coast Guard base that trains recruits. Except for two years of Covid, we have hosted Operation Fireside, so recruits have home meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas. These younger recruits are largely unfamiliar with the movie, but unfailingly it’s been a hit with the recruits.

By the way, it was just announced this week that Operation Fireside will be taking place as it traditionally has been. We have filled out the application to participate again!

Haven't been on this post for a bit, and I apologize for not acknowledging and supporting posters during possible tough times - ones who have always been kind to me. It's been a tough start of the school year due to new district and state mandates, new curriculum, more testing, new technology, etc. The one constant is the students - they are great, but still lacking some essential skills and stamina. I am getting my mojo back, but its been tiring!

Slo...I know DD is at university, but you sent her with life skills and self-knowledge. You've set her up for success and you must be so proud! Good job. Take a breather.

Bobbi...I'm so glad that you had a great time at WDW! Your meal posts had me drooling. I sincerely hope that you and your husband are doing well. And I can't forget Gus. As being diverse culturally is very important (and being from the Southwest), I think that maybe you should find him a taco toy to go with his hotdog. We want to keep him relevant! And please give him a belly rub for me.

Meriweather... I know that you're not a football fan, but hey...Go Cats. ASU...We'll see. Hope Alaska was relaxing and not stormy. Is DD still looking for a teaching position? Plenty down here in the Old Pueblo!

I hope all is well with everyone...and Happy Fall. Still humid and in the 90s here. Our two weeks of Fall, when a few leaves change color, will probably occur in November!

We watch it the day after Thanksgiving, after we put up decorations, and we always get a big stuffed pizza (Chicago style) to eat while we watch it.

After sitting in the cold, wind and rain yesterday while watching Katie play 3 games, I’m kinda glad to be back at work where it‘s warm. It was great to see her, despite the yucky weather

Mostly good. Juneau was cold with very heavy rains all morning.
The second at sea day .....going to Victoria from the inside passage, was very wobbly. It got better after lunch

My counter is off again. We leave for WDW in 6 days!!
