I don't know whats happing here on the DIS. I used to be able to ask a question or post a thread and people would be nice and helpful. now it seems like every thread I start is met with nastiness. I am getting to the point where I don't even want to come on here...never mind getting the courage to answer or start a thread. I think that once my trip is over....me and the DIS will part ways....I was hoping for frienship here..instead I found nothing but sadness.

I think the heat and the free dining debate has gotten into some peoples britches. Not all of us are meanies!!! I just read your other post (AAA) and thought that people really jumped on you - I have seen people post offerings of passes, coupons, etc so why not ask if anyone has something particular available, right? I try to think "give the person the benefit of doubt" and everyone else needs to be responsible for their own actions. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the whole tree!!!

I agree. I've almost stopped reading most posts. Have stayed on the "Post your homemade WDW shirts" becaue everyone there is nice and friendly but it has gotten that the simplest question or comment turns into a feeding frenzy for anyone who has a differing opinion. The OP will often be "stoned to death" for their thoughts or questions. It has gotten really old and has made me lose the Disney feeling I was so excited to have everytime I logged on here.

I used to feel that way too. I know some people pm me answers to my questions because they have been flamed in the past and feel unsafe to post their opinions in the open forum. I think that is awful that things got to that state, because we all have the right to post our opinions and ask questions the same as everybody else.

I just read the AAA post and you were defensive agaisnt almost every comment made. Lot's of people responded with very nice and helpful information but you still took offense to it.

I think everyone here is awesome and I have had nothing but a fun and positive experience here on the DIS!! Try to see things as more positive and see that most people here are great!!!!

I think there were quite a few helpful or well meaning posts on the other thread. I think the beauty of the DIS is all the different opinions you can get on a subject. I also like the fact that people take the time to help.

I agree with Sherri. I just read your AAA thread, and there was one poster who was quite insensitive (the others seemed fine). These boards are filled with MOSTLY nice people, but in any group of 70,000 there are going to be irritable types and bullies and trolls, etc. The one who mistreated you probably thought you wanted something for nothing in a dishonest way. Please don't think most here would attack you. But if you're feeling really vulnerable, it might do you good to stay away for awhile. I'm thinking of doing the same myself because all the nastiness is so unnecessary and a waste of one's time.

I read the thread, and I only saw two posts by the same person that I thought came off as "snarky", the rest seemed like they were trying to be helpful. But you felt jumped on, and I guess thats all that matters.

If you stop coming here, you only let the jerks win. I'd stick with it and show 'em they can't run you off!

In responce to your original question about the AAA pass, I was just wanted to point out that if walking in from the parking lot is going to be a hassle for you, then you may want to consider staying at one of the Disney resorts, the busses/boats/monorails drop you off right by the "front door" of the parks, then you can rent a wheelchair or ECV and you'll hardly do any walking at all. The Value resorts aren't too expensive, if $$$ is a problem.

But if staying on site isn't an option for you, then I can see why you would ask about the pass. I've never driven to WDW so I know nothing about the parking lots, I just wanted to mention staying on-site.
