There is to a certain degree under section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 which states -
any writing, sign or other visible representation which was threatening, abusive or insulting within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.
This can be committed in any public place.

Youre right, otherwise known as the public obscenity law
it was this that was used to ban the cradle of filth shirts printed with a semi nude nun and the slogan 'jesus is a .....'
quite a few people were arrested for wearing the shirt.
i know what you mean, some words should be banned. Anyone who uses that word these days should be ashamed
theres a new mouthwash advert that uses that word (well ive assumed the word) its got an EX at the end, i wonder if anyones complained about it.![]()
no advert is allowed language that strong on terrestrial tv. (if its the word i think youre on about, begins with c)
and i would hate for words to be banned, deemed not polite for society but, banning words is a slippery slope.
