Went out to the garage to go to work this morning and the garage door wouldn't open. My husband and I drive together, so he tried the cord on the opener and it still wouldn't budge. Checked a bit further and the cables were all tangled up. Looked a bit more and discovered the spring was broken. Trapped like a rat in a trap.
I called my office (I was supposed to be in charge today since the boss took off for Good Friday) and after they stopped laughing, found out one of the guys at work has a son who works for a garage door company. He had his son call me and see how we could get out of the garage. Well, it's a holiday and all the garage door companies are closed today. He's getting us emergency service to get the door open, but they aren't here yet.
Our son is off school today (he goes to Catholic School) and he's still asleep.
Maybe I'll get the day off, too.

When that spring snaps, pretty hard to lift that door.
