I'm sorry to ask..but I need your prayers again

Looks like he is on the road to a full recovery. Faith can take you so far, I know there are people who dont even know how wonderfully powerful it is!
I will send up prayers.

Praise God! I am so happy to hear that Bob is doing better, Phyllis. Keep all of the updates coming, no matter how small or large they are!!!! You are both still in our thoughts and prayers for a successful recovery!!

Great news Phyllis, so good to hear!
Still keeping you and Bob and your fam in my prayers.

Great to hear he is doing so much better. Continued positive thoughts for your husband and your son as well.

Thought I'd update with some GOOD news..Bob's home! :dance3:

He's exhausted..and feeling the pain a bit. He'll nod off while you're talking to him. Wait..he did that before the surgery too (just kidding..) They removed the epidural two days ago, now he's taking Percoset (sorry sp?). He's shakey on his feet, a walk to the bathroom tires him out. Other than that he feels pretty good if he's just sitting around, it's when he's got to move that there's a problem..oh well, that's what the pain killers are for I guess!

Just figured I'd keep you guys updated...been crazy busy, catching up with housework, laundry, grocery shopping and taking care of the hubby. I sure am happy to have some ordinary things to think about. :cutie:

Awesome Phyllis, tell Bob we said hi!

Funny how we think our life is a boring rut till something happens and we are glad to be back to the rut. Welcome back to the rut.

This is wonderful news!!! Just remember that no matter how high the laundry piles are, or how big the dust bunnies got while you were away, the important thing your home together to sit and complain about them!!!! Congratulations on the beginning of a successful recovery!

WONDERFUL! Glad to hear the good news, Phyllis! Ordinary is great!

Great news, Phyllis!!! Here's to a speedy recovery!!! :drinking1

Good for Bob. How long will he be laid up now?

We're not sure exactly. We've been told it's similar in recovery to that of a cardiac surgery.
Had visiting nurse yesterday, and physical therapy today. He was slightly agitated that I had them come.(luckily not strong enough to argue though:rolleyes1) I figured insurance is paying for it..why not take advantage and see what help they can offer. It's another set of eyes that knows what they're looking at...as far as his incision, and that type of thing. PT said they'd be back probably twice a week, for at least a couple of weeks. They left a set of exercises for him to do. They were reassuring as to his feeling as tired as he does..but it's normal at this point.
They both seem to feel he's exactly where they expected he'd be given his surgery. PT also reassured him that he will reach a turning point in his recovery where he starts to feel like his old self again..just to give his body the time it needs. In the meatime he has exercises that will facilitate his recovery. He follows up with primary care next week and the surgeon the week after that.
He got a good look at the incision yesterday when he showered, and frankly, I think he was surprised by it's appearance. It's got that "Frankenstein" look to it at this point. He was kind of quiet after that. I think as he starts to regain his strength, his good nature will return as well. It's been a lot to handle, in a relatively short period of time. It's just gonna take a little time.

Out of the goodness of my heart..I figure 5 or 6 days, then I'll have him digging up the backyard and putting in that new walk way I wanted. I mean..I had to wait for the ground to thaw anyway.:rotfl2:
