flippin' tired of food. I have zero desire to cook/eat/go out.

<sigh> Pity, party of one. Pity, party of one your table is now available.

Wow Buffy, I don't think I've ever been tired of food!

But if you need a pity party, then you have one! Sometimes it's all you can do :confused3

Buffy I totally agree with you. I'm sick of cooking and cleaning..... I've got to get back in the groove of good meals for the boys and I'm sick to death of the kitchen.

Please make it a party of two.

Yep, I need to cook better for the kids. DD is turning into a grazer and I don't want that.
I'm just sick of being the only one responsible for cooking, cleaning, prepping, and storing food. No one helps plan the meals but they complain about what's on the menu. apparently I'm supposed to be a short order cook too.

I'm in a foodie rut.
Christy I'll make room for you.

Party of 3?

My down fall is the mess of my kitchen. It is the catch all - mail, toys, school & work stuff along with the things that are supposed to be there. My cabinet space is not well utilized and I have food stuff on the counter because there is no place else to store the bread, chips, snacks & other bagged items.

It's hard to be creative when all you want to do is run away and pretend it isn't there.

However, I'm good for another Panera bagel if anyone wants to share with me.

Party of 3 coming up.

I hear you!!! I don't want to "create" anything because my kitchen is a mess. But the way it works here is DH cooks - I clean, I cook - I clean. Not the pattern I'm looking for here! And we walk in the house it's through the kitchen so bags, coats, mail, etc is piled at the door. And the end of the counter is used as a catch all for stuff that needs to go to the garage or loft.

But flat out nothing sounds good in the way of food.
I think that's the one thing I have an issue with on Biggest Loser, I get that food is there to fuel your body but I want to at least enjoy it!

Yup, I'm joining this party!
I didn't want to cook today because of my dental appointment.. I finally have feeling in my jaw again...and I did finally break down and take some tylenol because I couldn't take the pain any longer!
They weren't happy to go out to eat but I didn't care.. I needed soft food..so I have McD fries.. yay me! NOT! But it was the only thing I could tolerate...

We have to hide snack food every other weekend because of grazers and they eat all the kids' and DH's lunches for the following week... :( I get so upset... Heck, I cook full meals and they are in the cabinets 30 minutes after I clean the kitchen.. Sets me off royal....

I wish I was sick of food! And I am a grazer. Trying to watch the food budget so that has helped a little.

DD 2.5 never eats what I cook. Thats frustrating. And DD10 is growing or something I can't cook enough food for her.

Dishes - though - hate them. Finally did yesterdays - this afternoon.

Normally i cook he cleans but lately it's i cook i clean, sorry I do that at work so not interested in doing it at home. I'm shooting for tomorrow as a fresh start. I'm hoping that with a whole couple days home I can get back in the groove. Or at least using the crockpot again.
Heres hoping anyway.

I'm not sick of food, sadly! I'm currently making lasagne for this evening, but my slow cooker does most of the work normally - its my new best friend!

I agree about being the only one who cooks, cleans, shops and stores the food. I want someone else to do all the dirty work.

No help here, sorry. I cook, he cleans, usually. I rarely get tired of cooking OR eating. Those occasions call for grilled cheese and canned fruit.

I think the worst part is DH's job. I'm tired of cooking all week so I want to eat out on the weekends. Well he eats out all week on the road so he wants home cooked meals when he's home.
DH needs to cook! And something besides spaghetti.

I need to befriend my crock pot.

I'm going to clean out my pantry today. Hopefully that will give me some inspiration. We have the next 4 days off and DH isn't coming home so we are going to overhaul the kitchen.

OMG - I was just complaining about this same thing last night!! I love to cook, but I have cooked dinner every night for the last month - no eating out; no take-out. And the 1 time we've eaten out in the last 4 weeks was burgers with the in-laws. I'm sick of looking at food. Tonight is leftover crockpot Moroccan chicken so at least all I have to do is prepare a side and re-heat the chicken.

I am getting dinner out Sunday for Valentine's though :lovestruc

BAMB - Best of luck with the kitchen overhaul. I do get inspired when I clean out the pantry.

I think Sunday I will post a weekly menu thread. Maybe we can get some inspiration for new things.
And I can see where my rut is. I know part of it is chicken, we eat way to much chicken.

A menu thread would be great!

I actually write a menu every week, sometimes for 2 weeks. I find lately, even with a menu, I'm getting into a rut. I buy meat in bulk at Costco and freeze it, I like to see what's BOGO at our local supermarket, then I see what's in our pantry/fridge/freezer, and what I can get at the farmer's market, and figure out what we're eating. I hate grocery shopping, so if I can plan a menu I only have to go to that dreaded supermarket once a week.

All this could be fixed if I just had a wife! Someone else to do the crud I don't want to do!

DH does most of the cooking. It started when I worked in Boston and got home late, he enjoys it more than I do, so he does the majority of it still. And, it used to be I cook, you clean but now it's whoever cooks *I* clean. That ticks me off. Just because I work part-time and he works full-time does not give him a pass. He still needs to help out.

I get so sick of chicken! I need new ideas. There's only so many times a week we can have tacos and spaghetti.

My dh does most of the cooking as well. I clean up the mess after. He hates to do the kitchen clean up.
I have to do a menu ahead of time because I work full time so I have to know what go take out what we are having either the night before or the morning of. I love my crockpot. I just love to come home and dinner is ready. That's the best feeling in the world. I hate the guess work.
I could do chicken EVERY day. I'm the oddball one. I hate red meat and dh loves it. So on those nights I have cereal. No biggie. Bubba is a very picky eater. That's where my worry is. He needs to eat more things.

I have a menu set out for every 2 weeks.. I give myself 3 extra meals just in case something pops up (unexpected event, company or such)...it works out pretty good..but sometimes it seems we have the same stuff over and over again....
