Here we go again. More running around for the hurricane Rita this time. I should be grateful that we have been sooooo lucky. Nothing really has happened as far as damages here in south Miami. But we are picking up the pieces from Katrina.

It's time for another one !!! Lord knows what will happen now!!

Gas stations have a lines as far back as a block. $2.99 gallon

The air in town is just loaded with :confused3 :sad2: anxiety and stressssss!!!!

I totally agree. Hurricane season has become so stressful. I feel almost overwhelmed with fear when the weather channel starts talking about another "area of development". When we first moved here I never really thought much about hurricanes. One or two a season might have been mentioned, who knows. They all seemed to go to the Carolinas then. In the last 3 years it seems these nasty hurricanes have been coming more frequently. They come one right after another, and many of them headed my way. Luckily for me Rita doesn't look to be a threat to my area at this time.

This area (around Tampa) has historically been pretty safe from big hurricanes. Not anymore though. I live about 1 mile from the gulf. Even though we are not prone to flooding, if a hurricane hit directly on my coast the storm surge would wipe everything out around me. I guess we just have to be as prepared as possible, have our paperwork in order and ready to take, gas up the cars and buy plenty of water.

I often wish we could move back home.

so sorry you all have to go through this!

It is now a far cry from those days(10-20) years ago when a hurricane warning was more of an excuse to plan a party...I think we all respect the power of mother nature now....

Hope you all stay safe and that this storm falls apart......

I am not scared, just disscusted. :confused3 This is getting way too OLD! :guilty: And expensive, my DH has spent about 8,000.00 this year on supplies, and gas, and generators etc. I spent about 300.00. It always seems to hit when I have extra Money coming too. :guilty: ACCCCCKK!!

I'm so scared! Not for me but for my Sister-in-law and brother! They live down in Cameron Parish....That's like right on the Texas/Louisiana line! :earseek: I pray that Rita will die down... :guilty: :umbrella:

I also am getting a little tired of this storms.

The only good thing is they seem to be coming with much shorter notice, and that means much less news coverage. I am tired of 24 hour hurricane news.

Wishing everyone safety in this storm. Going outside to finish putting up the shutters!

Another one tired of these storms. Shuttered up again and waiting. Schools closed again. Life cancelled again. Ugh. Hurricane season go away! Everyone stay safe!
