I'm So Sad :(

I just spend $50 on Sim City 4...I was soooo looking foward to playing it. I installed it and went to start playing and I can't get it to work!!!



I checked to make sure I meet all of the system requirments, and I do. My computer isn't even two years old so it shouldn't be a problem...I wouldn't think. When I try to start it my computer thinks really hard for a really long time, acts like it's going to start the game and then it's like it says, "I'm too tired...I give up."

I really wanted to play my game but it looks like I'll have to wait for DH to get home and figure out what's wrong with it

Hope you got it working! My friend gave my kids a Sims game for Christmas. They totally love it! Its the one with the people and their houses, not building cities. They crack up laughing when it plays that lovey music and the characters kiss and next thing you know they have a baby . . . hmmmm!

I just installed the game this afternoon. The system requirements are high although the box requirements state a 500 mh Pen 3. I have a 2.53gh pen 4 and I can't imagine it running very smoothly on a system too much slower. Hope you can get it going. DH is the real gamer of the family but I have always loved the Sim City series

I love the way that you have personified your computer. I do the same thing too. I always say that the computer is "thinking" whenever we have to wait.

Well, I did a really good job of breaking my computer last night trying to get that darn game to run...I broke it real good. Not really, but when you're as frustrated as I was things just start looking hopeless. All I did was somehow disconnect myself from our home network and DH (the administrater) is the only one with the password and I couldn't get myself back on so I had to wait for him to come home and fix everything...then after all that our internet connection went down!!! Errrrrr...it was a frustrating night.

So, after he tried installing it on my computer again and then tring to install it on his computer, DH comes to the conclusion that my video card won't work with the game. He couldn't get it to work on his computer either, so that means no computer in my house can play the game! He also thinks there might be something else wrong with it since the game didn't even bother giving me any error messages at all...in fact, the game never did much of anything except make my computer think really hard. So DH took the game to work today to try it on the computers there. If it works and if I ever want to play it, I'll have to spend even more money on a new video card
