I'm so MAD!

I have an ADR for my daughters 5th bday, next week at 1900 PF. I have desperately been trying to add one person (its currently for 4 people) since my mom is now coming. I have called 3x a day every day for weeks! No luck.
Tonight I call and speak with someone and they tell me "no problem!" Im like, are you sure??? You can add one person to my rez - so a total of 5 people?! The guy says "yes...you're all set!". Ok. Woohoo! Then I think... that was way too easy. So I call back and speak with someone else who advises me... "no, your rez is for 4 people." He never made any change!!!! I asked if she was sure, and she was, and she advised like everyone else has- that the restaraunt is completely booked all night. Im fuming!!!!!

I would think maybe, however- I repeated it like 3 times to him! I even said, wow- that was so easy...ive been calling for 3 weeks and no one has been able to add a person to our rez. So, he definitely knew what it was that I was requesting.

I say just show up with being 5 and tell them they made a mistake. I have never done this but do you think that Disney would turn you guys away?

I'd be upset too! Did you get the name of the guy who said you were all set? If so, I would call and speak with a supervisor and demand they accomadate you since that is what he told you.

We had the same problems in Nov., our nephew ended up coming with us after we made our ADR's and we were told the same thing. We couldn't go from a party of 4 to party of 5 without having a whole new ressie, and most were booked. I was frustrated too b/c one in my party was a 1 year old, I didn't think it would be that big of a deal.

I would just keep trying on the phone, especially as it gets closer people re think their plans and may cancel. If that doesn't happen, I would go to the restaurant and ask if they can accomadate you, esp. with it being your childs birthday, hopefully they can just pull a chair over!!!!

Having just ate there last week... I think you would be able to show up and just see if they could add another person. The place is pretty roomy and it is not like you are adding alot more people.

Tell them that you made the ressie for 5 but you were calling on a cell phone and the reception wasn't that good. You will be accomodated.

No, the restaurant is called 1900 Park Fair. The name has not changed.

the dinner was also called 1900 park fare but is now called Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner.

I'm so sorry! It's weird that he told you that you were all set - especially since you asked him multiple times. I wonder why they can't add one more person. Hopefully someone will cancel their reservation before you go - don't give up Good luck and have a wonderful trip!!

I would call again once you get there. People cancel ressies once they're in the parks, change plans, etc. You might not get the exact time, but may still be able to add.

when you check in say that you had changed it to 5 a few weeks ago. this way they have to accomidate you- they're not going to turn you all away.

Thanks everyone! So, the latest is...I called back AGAIN and spoke to "Cliff".... he said he cannot "officially" add someone but he has noted the rez that we would like to add an adult. He told me to just show up with 5 people and it will be NOOOOOOO PROBLEM! lol. Why do I find that hard to believe????

It probably has something to do with the reservation system... if the system doesn't allow more 5-person ADRs, the CM's can't change that... but what a CM might be able to do is pull up one extra chair on the day of the ressie. It's not like your trying to get a table without any ADR... I think you'll be ok when the time comes.

We had soooo many issues with the ADR's booked over the phone for our last trip that I'm thinking I need to start taking notes eg. we were booked at Ohana for breakfast 2 days in a row, Tusker house for breakfast AND lunch. It's gotten so that I don't even trust that they're correct until the Concierge prints out the list for me at the resort.

As for adding extra people -- I wonder if it would be possible to make an ADR for 1 person.

It's possible also that adding an additional person to a table for 4 is harder than adding 1 person to a table for 3 (if the tables seat either 4 or 6 people). But if that person actually has an ADR for that time, or close to it, the restaurant will likely find a way to fit people in

Last year for our anniversary/xmas trip they spelled our name wrong on two of our 7 and I made them all in the same call. We also had an incorrect in person ADR. I changed an ADR at the front desk of our resort and they booked it on the wrong day :O! A manager pulled me over to a little laptop when I realized the mistake and took care of me asap though

Even when I subtracted people it became a big deal and they had to cancel the ADR and get a new one. They even had to change the time because apparently the table was not available right away. I decided for the other one I wouldn't change and we will just change when we get there. Wasn't taking the chance that we would not get an ADR at a reasonable time. Wish they had an easy way of adding or subtracting people at the same table.
