I'm so jealous of my husband!

I'm headed to Paris June 2nd for business. Being a widower I'm taking my 15 YO DD! She can't contain herself!

Disneycrazymom your house sounds like our house. But thank goodness for Holiday Inn Priority club points. We do get to stay for free a lot when we travel.

In my company if it is less than a week long trip (i.e. no weekends) and the cost of a Saturday night stayover is significantly cheaper...our company allows you to spend 75% of the savings. That could help pay for your airfare, and you rhotel would already be covered by your husband business trip.

We did this a few years ago when I had a training class in San Jose...DW and DS both came out and the whole trip cost us about $500 out of our own pockets for touring food and other stuff for 10 days in Calif.

If you are really anxious to see Alaska, I'd at least ask, then it helps set the precedent for the Hawaii trip ;) Or it makes your husband look good for helping to save the company some money.

Good Luck!

DH is always jealous because I am the one always traveling, as my occupation is Director of Sales and he is a Funeral Director

Recently I've been to Wash DC, Toronto (during the height of the SARS scare), Philly, San Diego, Dallas, Lake Tahoe :)

After begging and pleading, I am ALLOWING him to join me on a bus trip to San Diego in the fall :p

I am glad I'm not alone.;) When he's gone I just hang with all the wonderful dis gang. We did just enjoy the Hilton in Destin FL for Spring Break. 7 wonderful free nights ocean view with breakfast included. You gotta see the bright side!:)

well where is he going in Alaska?

I could be VERY jealous or I could be feeling pity for him ;)

Tell him to pack his bug spray!!

My DH used to travel great places like San Francisco, Charleston, Seattle and Washington. I did get to go to Washington with him and that was great. Once he even went to Orlando for a convention at the Dolphin and I definitely tagged along on that trip!

Nowadays, his company's travel budget has been cut back quite a bit and he mostly goes to Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas. Plus Waco, Texas! I have nothing against these places but I'm not moved to tag along as much any more.

Disnee Dad Says...............................I'm telling you Splsh Mtn 99, if you ever get a chance to go to Washington, jump on it
You have the space needle, pioneer square, pike street markets, for tourist traps around Seattle. Mt. Ranier is a close drive away, much nicer than the rocky hills, I mean mountains.
Northwest Trek, an unknown equal to the San Diego Wildlife Park.

Oh my, you are only a couple hours from Vancouver Island. Jump on the boat, and go to Victoria. See the Empress Hotel, and have tea if you are so inclined. Visit Buchart Gardens, it rivals our Filoli gardens here in Cali. Bangers and mash, in a real pub. And don't even go to Vancouver, BC, that takes another week.

And don't drive south to Portland, the rose city will grab you with it's thorns! Maybe you can get away to Astoria, or end up in Tillamook, great cheese and ice cream, what a concept!

Yes, the Columbia River Gourge is fantastic, very beautiful. But you'd have to drive east to see it, and would wind up seeing more stuff!!

And I didn't mention Gig Harbor, or Dungeness? Dungeness, the best crab in the world!

Rent a car, see the sites, and you will want to move here!!!

19 more years, and we will retire to the best place on earth.

I'm sooo glad I'm not alone. I was afraid I would read this thread this morning and everyone would say " you selfish little..."

I know he has to work when he goes on trips, but he usually is only "working" a few hours a day. I don't envy all the flying he has to do, that would get old. Although getting bumped to first class wouldn't hurt!

He is flying out on a Saturday even though he doesn't need to be there until Monday. He's doing some fishing with clients.

sigh

Tamie

Don't count out your FF miles. We booked a trip to Puerto Rico on FF miles a week or two before travelling. You may have to fly separately, but you'd still get to be together while you're there.

Give it a try.

I am the one who travels sometimes for work. I've gotten to take him to Colorado Springs, but usually, I just go to Philadelphia, Cherry Hill, NJ, or Atlanta. I may be going to Nashville in September, but I doubt he and the kids will go there with me. We're not into country, and our friends who used to live there moved to TX. Aside from awesome southern BBQ, I don't see much of a draw for him.

I wish he would do some travelling so I could tag along. The only place he's ever gone was Ocean City, MD, when he was foreclosing on a hotel and condos there.

Last night when my DH got home I told him "you are not going to believe the thread that i found today. We joke about this all the time. He found it really funny yesterday especially since I found out abouat a trip by seeing the hotel confirmation email when I got home and he had not told me about this trip yet.

Hey, Tamie, I'm sorry I don't think I would be jealous if my dh had to go to Alaska, since I have no interest in going there. ;) But I do understand the jealousy part!

My dh just went to Miami a few weeks ago for business, and yes, I was VERY jealous!! It was 80 degrees there while it was 40 here!

As long as he doesn't get to go to Orlando without me, he can go anywhere else! lol

:)

My husband is going to Antartica next January with his best friend. I wanted to go, even volunteered but his friend said he drew the line at spending 10 days in antartica with the wife of his best friend and partner :( No fair! I'm jealous that I don't get to go.

Everytime !

He's on expense account in Orlando, New Orleans, Washington...etc. Tried all the best restaurants. There are times he's too tired to even try the food. So I have him read off the room service menu to me, and ordered for him. And my only satisfaction is to hear the "hmmm this steak is sooooo good" over the phone line. :(

DisneeDad....you made Washington sound great. But he usually gets sent to military bases that aren't too near anything.

In Alaska.....they were on an island off of Ketchikan to help build roads. (That was back in his National Guard days when he got his hands dirty....... now he's a full time database administrator for MA Army National Guard)

When he called the other night from ouside of Helena, Montana (Ft Lewis ????)....he said, good thing I didn't go....there was NOTHING around. (I'm sure he exaggerated to make me feel better for not being there.)

Not sure where he's going in Washington.

Some times he lucks out with real cities..... San Diego; Little Rock; Oklahoma City.

Disnee Dad Says.............................Ft. Lewis is in Washington, about fourty miles from Seattle!!! I used to live about five miles away.
BTW, when I said move here, I meant there, we are in California!

Nope.....this was definitely Ft ????? outside of Helena, Montana. He arrived home last night bearing gifts & postcards. I could have sworn it was Ft Lewis. Maybe there's more than one?
