I'm so happy I just had to share the wonderful news and story with all of you on the DISboards!
I'm really starting to believe that the Mickey Mouse charm that I'm wearing right now has brought us Disney magic!
The story actually starts two months ago when my dad surprised me with a four day trip to Disney, but it was going to be just the two of us since my mother was having to work and wouldn't be able to get off with such short notice... Excited as I was, I was still upset that my mom wouldn't be able to join us...
Leap forward to this past Monday...we get a call from my dad saying that he's just thrown out his back, can barely stand up and is coming home. The pain was so bad Monday night that there was actually talk of postponing the trip... Plus, I had seen that a new tropical system was developing in the Atlantic and appeared to be heading towards Florida. (I promise, this is the saddest it gets...)
Today was when the real Magic began. First, my dad's back made a great improvement; he's now walking around much better and was able to get out of the house today.
(Cue me putting on the necklace before I went to work...)
As I was getting ready to leave for work, dad had the Weather Channel on with info about the now Tropical storm Danny, who, according to the storm track would be turning and not even making landfall with Florida.
Then, I get to work, (A job which I absolutely hate...and really, I'm too excited about the trip to work anyway...) work 7, yes, 7 MINUTES, and am asked by my mananger if I'd like to go home since they're cutting hours.
I was out of there in 5 minutes!
Then, my mom goes to work; her job is also cutting hours and she now has the weekend off and thanks to the incredible people at Disney,
, she now has her plane ticket and her reservations made to come with us to Disney!

I'm still wearing the necklace right now, and as I listen to Disney theme park music with a big goofy grin on my face, I'm now convinced that there is such a thing as Disney magic!
Just had to share my great news!
Maybe if I wear my necklace to the parks, maybe we'll win a night in Cinderella's Castle! Hey, there's nothing wrong with wishing...
