Just in case, I've posted this on transportation, and resturant boards also. :flower:

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, hope your as a happy as can be!!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Ok, lets face it, I've become a Dis, junkie. I read and read and read, I even most of the time go pass page two or three just to see if there was anything i missed. I know it's sick isn't it??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

The reason I'm so confussed is transportation and Ps's.
First of all, My family of 4 is taking our first trip to the "world" end of June 2005.
After reading the UNguide, and these boards I got the impression maybe we should drive around to the parks ourselves instead of using disney trans. Even though we are staying onsite,(bus crowds, late pick-ups at our resort MSmo,afternoon breaks, ect.....)
BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
with the advise of others, I think I changed my mind.
UNTIL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I read a post about early Ps's to donalds breakfast. Some said, there is no early bus, AK won't let anyone in early that's not a bus. NO, AK always let PS's in that are driving them selves with PS's. No, AK won't let you in,,,,,,,,, and so on and so on....................... :confused3 :confused3

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Please someone help me.

DO we drive ourselves to the parks?? do we take the buses?? what about early Ps's?? :confused3 :confused3 Help, never been there, and never done any of it before.

Thank you. Thank you,

Karen :earsgirl:

We used to rely on Disney transportation and in most cases it worked out fine (except when we tried to get from ASMu to the Contem. for Chef Mickey's....it was awful). Then, during our last trip in Jan. we got a great deal on a rental car and now we're hooked. We just loved the flexibility of having our own car and being able to "hop" more easily. I will say though, it does depend on which resort you stay at. If we're at a deluxe, I'm less inclined to need a car, but if we're at a value, I would not be without it anymore. HTH....have a great trip!!!!

If money isn't a factor, I would do both...rent a car and use it sometimes, and use Disney transportation sometimes...Dinsey transportation can be great most of the time, but sometimes can be a pain in the butt...alot depends on where you're staying and where you want to go during your trip...We always used to rent a car, then the last few trips we have relied solely on disney transportation...For our next trip in August we will probably do both...

another option, if you're only going to need a car once or twice, is to get a taxi...on one trip we didn't rent a car and we would use taxis to go from hotel to hotel...

when we have stayed on site we have never rented a car and have never had a problem getting to early morning breakfasts at the parks. So if you have no other need for a car, I would say don't bother. the buses run early enough to get you there, although you may need to make sure to try to get the first bus in the morning to a particular park. Going to a breakfast at a hotel could be a bit more problamatic, since you need to go to a park to get a bus to another resort. In the worst case you could always take a taxi to the resort. Using a taxi once would be much cheaper than renting a car.

We've never had a problem getting to our early PS's in the parks. We had an early PS @ Donalds and the bus got us there in plenty of time! We were thru eating and ready to go before the park "officially" opened!

After you check in at your resort, go to *Guest Services* and ask what time the early bus comes to take you to your PS (now "AR"!).

Well, I can tell you from experience that when we had early PS at Donalds last July, they held all of the cars at the main entrance until 8am. Our PS was at about 7:50 am. It was a lot of frustrated cars waiting to get in. We still made it in and was seated around 8:15 am.

I would definitely use the bus, if I had to do it over again.

Personally I do not want to drive when I am on vacation. Disney trasnportation is very good. There are problems at times, but for the most part their system works very well. If you can avoid the theme park closing times you will have no problem with crowds. Most people hurry to the bus stops at closing. The smarter ones walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. By the time they get to the bus stop the crowds are gone. Others made a great point of taking a taxi. There are taxis available outside the main entrances of all Disney resorts. The fare is very reasonable and it's a great option.

Please note that Tyler has reported that Disney is discontinuing the early buses because of low usage. The low usage is due to their CM not knowing about them!
Anyway, the only early breakfast that is a problem to get to is Donald's at the AK. Since they are stopping the early buses and cars cannot enter until 8am I would avoid Donald's unless you have a later ps.
