I'm so annoyed!

Back in July we booked a 1 bdrm. Value at AKV for June 4-8 2009. DH and the boys' AP's expire 6/8 so we wanted to get one last trip in before that happened, and we wanted to catch SWW if it was going again this year. Well DH put it on his calendar but forgot to put it on the IT calendar. When he went to check it the other day he found out his assistant had booked that week which meant DH couldn't go (they're the only 2 for coverage). Dana has a traditional timeshare which means he couldn't change his plans, so we had to change ours

That left me with trying to book Memorial Day weekend to get in on SWW and so DS is less likely to miss state testing (they're finished with that by June). The thought of booking 4 months out for a holiday weekend was not my idea of a good time, especially since we'd already borrowed from 2010 and any more borrowing would cut into trips for that year . We got lucky though--OKW was available for a 1 bdrm. and we only had to borrow 5 pts. So it worked out, although I had to use the 19 pts. I'd gotten back for 2009 when we dropped a day from the June trip.

The only good thing through all this is that I hadn't bought plane tickets yet. First I was holding off because I wanted to see if we'd have the money, then I held off because of some health problems with my mom. Of course the tickets are going to be about $300 more because of the holiday weekend

So all in all it could have been worse, fortunately we can still go even with the increase in air for that weekend, but I'm still ticked!

My dh's vacation works the same way, so I am always telling him to put it in as soon as we book (11 months out) and he never does.

he keeps saying how he's got plenty of time to do it, etc.

isn't SWW going into mid June this year? I thought it ended the weekend of the 14th??

What a pain! Glad to hear that it's working out, although not the way you originally planned! I have the same problem with my DH. We book then he forgets to put it on his calendar at work! Doh!

It is--it's from 5/22 through 6/14, but our AP's expire 6/8 so we can't do that weekend .
