I'm mentally hurting from my best friend.

Ok so let me tell this story... My best friend. We shall call her Jill. Now Jill likes a guy. We shall call this guy Bob. Now Bob is one of the biggest jerks I've ever known in my life. He's leading Jill on and he doesn't like her like that. Now the sad thing is that Jill is taking the bait. And yet again Bob has been very sinister to Jill's friends, including myself. He's called us a few names I would never repeat in public. He's insulted me. And now he says the most perverted things ever. And no matter how many times I've told Jill about what he's doing, she simply apologizes for him and continues communication with him. The reason I'm not giving out names is because they are DISsers. And the other day they called each other.

Now I know that there's nothing I can do at the moment, and that it's her descisions and not mine. But it's horrible watching her crash and burn and him getting the entertainment of it. My parents tell me to just let it happen, but I don't want to. And Jill's friends and I are going to be the one to have to pick up the pieces when she falls.

I'm totally torn up inside over this

You could use a super-secret-spy video camera to capture on video instances of Bob being a jerk. You could show her these, and if she isn't moved by them, hire a SWAT team to remove Bob from civilization. Erm, peacefully. So he can live with unicorns and stuff.

Make her a list. A list of why Bob is a jerk.
Make Bob a list of why he is a jerk.
Sign Bob up for jerk-management classes =)

Bob thinks it's funny. It started as a joke, actually. They both thought it was funny. Then we realized that they were serious, but both in different ways.
Jill was serious that she likes Bob a lot.
Bob was serious that he wants to ruin her in the worst possible way...
Now, it's a messed up, tangled, problem that will eventually blow in both their faces.

There will always be people that you don't want your friends to date. Trust me, been there. I'm like you, if I think they are a jerk, I want to tell them but at the same time I don't want to hurt them.

I would like to think that if I was in a situation where my friends truly did not like my boyfriend, I would dump him. I have yet to be in this situation but if all your friends think he is a bad guy, there has to be a good reason.

If you really think he's a jerk, tell her again and if she still doesn't listen just tell her:

"Jill, I tried to tell you this guy is a jerk and he is leading you on, but you won't listen. Now I'm going to drop it but when he hurts you, I'm not going to be the one that picks up the pieces."

(Not meaning you won't be her friend anymore, just meaning you aren't going to be the shoulder she cries on.)

I am not the type of person to trust some random guy over my friends, so this would get my head straight but it may be different for your friend. It's worth a try though.

Trust me this won't be the last time you are in thi situation, once you realize that, it gets easier.
