I'm really starting to worry now..DH wants to move..HELP!!

Really, I've truly rejoiced in reading these posts! I woke up thinking about everything and reading all your posts and feel much better. To give a little more background I thought I'd post again.

DH's uncle lives in Key West, FL and has been there for over 20 years. DH would stay summers down there and visit several times a year so he knows all about the FL climate. I was there in the extreme humidity and I Hated it! He said that I would get used to it, I personally don't think I ever would.

His uncle can also get his business started right away (so he says). Anyway, I agree with everyone who's posted, this is a big decision, and honestly I think I feel stronger against it than he feels strongly for it.

As much as I love Disney, it does not sway me in any way. To me it would lose some of the magic it holds for me if it were so close. I like the "escape" to WDW, I don't think hours away is much of an escape.

Thanks again for all who took the time to post, you are the BEST!!!!! :worship:

You really need to sit down and tell him how much you love where you live. Dh and I moved from home a year and a half ago and are returning there the end of this month. My dh had a job he HATED, life was miserable. He had an account out here and they lured him with a job and I followed him because I love him and he was truly miserable. Well, I became the one miserable. ALL our family is back there, plus friends. I sucked it up and didn't tell him how I was really feeling, but I was on the brink of depression. He lost that wonderful job that moved us out here in Nov. without warning. I had a realtor here in a few days and the house on the market a week after he lost his job. We've sold the house and are moving back and we will have to live with relatives. He hasn't found a job there yet, we have money, just no job. Think about it hard, will you be miserable without your family and friends? Seeing my 2 1/1 year old niece over the holidays and she has no clue as to who I am, broke my heart. Once we get our own house, I'll be babysitting her! :goodvibes

Key West is a long way from Disney World. I think I would move to Key West over Colorado.

I think a long, sit-down talk would be in order. I think sounds like he has some idea's planted in his head- and as his wife you need to hear them out. However, on the flip side- he also needs to hear out all of your concerns. Together you'll have to decide what is best. Ironically- dh and I went through this about this time last year. He had the same idea's in his head. We went around and around seriously w/ it for about a month. I had brought up so many things he never thought of- that after a few weeks he seen it wasn't reasonable.

Also, if you haven't been looking lately, house prices in Florida have gone up *very* much. Here in Central Florida home prices have appreciated 40%+. Personally, our home is up over 50%. So, in other words, it ain't as cheap as it used to be.

Yes! In Tampa they have gone up just as much and sometimes more. A friend of mine from high school moved down here from Long Island in August 2003. They bought their home here for $282,000. We thought that was alot back in 2003! Now, that same house can sell for $475,000 at least. :scared1: So much for the lower cost of living.
