I called last Saturday at 7 am, booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package.
At the time, the July park hours weren't published yet.
The CM gave me the FDP with a 3:35 ADR at MM on Thursday, July 2nd.
I hated the time, but I took it anyway, because we never saw Fantasmic.
Now that the park hours are published, there is no Fastasmic that night.

I know I should call, but I need to calm down. So I wanted to vent to you all.

I'm sorry :-(
The new park hours REALLY do need to posted earlier. It's just extremely inconvenient.
Try not to stay too bothered- it is VERY possible that you'll be able to get another FDP on a night that has it. If not available immediately, possibly after cancellations.

PLUS- since THEY BOOKED YOU a FDP, I woudl think that they are partly responsible for ensuring that you get one on another day.

When you call, try to be calm- but also express that it is VERY bothersome that you were booked for a package that DOESN'T EVEN EXIST for the day u booked it.

Sorry for you trouble though! :-(

If you booked a Fantasmic Dining Package and there is no Fantasmic that day, I'm pretty sure they'll work with you to make it right. Don't worry, just take some deep breaths and call them. I hope you get to see Fantasmic another night. :earsboy:

I'm just feeling a little emotional right now, my SIL's dog died suddenly this afternoon. :sad2:

phew.

I see this website's July hours do not have Fantasmic on 7/2...don't know why, though, when Disney's own calendar does have it on there.

I would go with the official calendar when there's a discrepancy...especially since Dining booked you a package. My understanding of the system is that they cannot book the package unless it has been "loaded" for that day so I would say Disney Dining & Disney calendar have the correct info.:goodvibes

No problem...I know how irritating it is to not have the info on a timely basis...I'd the original OCD (obsessive-compulsive Disneyholic!) And the official Disney website is always sooooo slow to load every single page, too. Pain in the yoo-hoo.

Hope you enjoy Mama Melrose & Fantasmic as much as we did! Love the peach Bellini! Mellow you out nicely...and the hazlenut mousse, or the tirimisu for dessert. Awesome.

Catne is correct Marylouwho - I too have MM for a FDP for 7/2 and when I logged onto disboards tonight I checked the hours and it's not on there so I called and confirmed with a CM who said there is a show on 7/2 @ 9:00 so we're good!! Oh and our time is for 4:05 so you will be there when we are :thumbsup2

How COOL is that!!! We'll be the table with the 2 tired looking parents, along with DD13 and DD10. This will be our last day in the parks, the next day we will be leaving on a jet plane, so it'll be a little sad.

THANKS to you all.... You're the BEST!!! :goodvibes

does anyone know why they make the dinner reservations at such a ridiculously early time? I know this will sound like I'm exaggerating, but my two boys would be ready to eat again by 9 if they have dinner at 3:30!! I haven't attempted to book a package yet myself, but everything I read suggest that 3:30 - 4:00 is the pretty typical times alloted for the package.

I'm going to go out on limb and say that it's their way of filling the restaurant. They assign the less popular times to the packages leaving the more popular time open to other guest who might not even want to see F!

Its because they want you on your way to Fantasmic an hour before Fantasmic, and MM for one is so very slow with service - that I think they have determined the best times - add to that how popular the FDP are - and its a formula! (I'm not good at math!)

we had a 4pm FDP I didnt want to get there early or late - we signed in around 4 (there was such a line to get in to leave our name!) the restaurant was busier in the lobby than inside MM - and I'm telling you they were as slow as molasses!

we just took a snack in with us - water bottles, and I think we had popcorn?? not sure... but its such a fantastic show, I didnt think about eating! They do hawk a lot of glowing night stuff - bring your own!

All of the Fantasmic dinner packages are not at 3:30 or 4:00...they go as late as 5:30 but of course everyone will want those latest seatings and they will get booked first. If you got a 3:30 seating, you got one of the last available dinner package seats. The only reason they even offer seatings that early is because there was such a demand they added more times. They did not add later seatings, because the later the seating, the more difficult it would be to guarantee that people would get done in time to get to their reserved seats.

They want to make sure people are done at least an hour & a half before the Fantasmic showing because they are now advising people to show up 60 minutes before...and you have to add in walking time to the theater, too, since MM is quite a distance from the theater.

With the popularity of the dinner package, chances are you will not be seated for your meal right on time, especially if you have a later seating. Then with the package giving you an appetizer course in addition to the entree & dessert, the total wait & meal time potentially can run you 1.5, or even 2 hours. So those with that last seating of 5:30 could be getting out of dinner as late as 7:30...which is about in time to hike over to the theater for a 9:00 p.m. show.
