...Naomi-Ruth came to join me and was looking at a different guide book…when she saw a picture of the Mickey/Walt statue…and exclaimed:

“OOOHHHH it’s Mickey’s Daddy!”

She is so adorable! :lovestruc

Nice bags!! Me like!

Fantastic birthday Julie... here's wishing you many more!

Kathy

Hi Julie! My kids went back to school this week and I am slowly but surely catching up on all the reports I have been neglecting. I'm all caught up with yours now! :thumbsup2

Love the sock throwing mayhem! So fun! :banana: You are very creative and I love that Matt jumps right in! ;)

Love the lists as usual! :worship:

The Cubs game looks like a lot of fun! We went to see the Orioles on 9/3 and the park was very empty there as well. But still fun! What a cool way to celebrate your birthday with your dad!

Naomi Ruth is a hoot! LOL! :lmao:

I'm back on the Dis, too!

Man, the end of summer, Labor Day activities and 1st days of school for my Kindergartner meant no time for Dis!

I think I'm caught up now.

- Love the sock throwing and the Cars party.

- Happy belated Birthday

- the homemade bean bag toss will be fun! I just pulled out an old "Toss Across" game from when I was a kid to play with my Rachel. There was a drawing on the back of the box that I drew back 'in the day' when I was young. Ah, memories!

- lists, lists and lists .... I don't know how you are going to do it all! You make me tired.

- I like the Mickey bag

- yes, that "space" is of ultimate importance in your name! :rotfl2:

OH, and I forgot the most important thing -- You got a Cricut!!!!!!

:banana::cool1::dance3::banana::cool1::dance3:

and a :yay::yay:

You are going to love it!

I have about 15 cartridges now but I find that I use the Mickey Font one the most. I love it for all my titles and of course it makes the Mickey Heads soooo quickly!

I have the Expressions (the larger one) and simply love it. I outgrew the smaller, original one in less than one year! When you go to make all the beautiful princesses and Mickeys/Minnies, etc as "paper dolls", just make them as large as you can. Those small pieces like lips, eyes, etc are a pain to work with when the doll is less than 6".

MAGIC KINGDOM….Scrappie’s Guide to the Most Magical Place on EARTH!!!

“ Opened in 1971, the Magic Kingdom was the first of the four WDW theme parks built. Many of the attractions found here are originals from that park opening…the Magic Kingdom is undoubtedly what most people think of when WDW is mentioned. The Magic Kingdom is divided into seven themed lands…Main Street, replicating small-town American life…Adeventureland, with its exotic jungle theme, and then Frontierland, Disney’s take on the American West, Liberty Square…early United States and Fantaslyland.”

Excerpt from The Unofficial Guide Color Companion to Walt Disney World

“ For me MK opened it’s doors to me in 1985 (although my parents visited w/ my older sister in 1975)…like most WDW guests, the Magic Kingdom is the quintessential idea of what Disney is…Magic, Wonderment, Fantasy and Adventure. Each of the four lands has something new and memorable to share and they flow seamlessly back and forth and around the Castle. The Magic Kingdom can be toured in a mad frenzy of Dumbo and top Mountain thrill, but can also be savored and walked through like your own backyard. There is no other place like it (and as a friend recently counted…Disneyland doesn’t count as a comparison) and I love coming back and spending time here!”

excerpt from Scrappie's Guide ;)

Lessons Learned from our Previous Trips (including 2009):

* Really need 2 + touring days to fit all of favorites, plus repeats

* Like to visit at the beginning, middle and end of each trip

* Fun to travel to MK using the various forms (walking, bus, boat, & monorail)

* A pre-park morning ADR is a great way to start off MK…w/ a nearly empty Main Street

* A new tradition hope to repeat several trips to come…Mother-Daughter night w/ Bekah

* Always take time for the characters here

* The Princess line (and now I bet the Fairies) at Toontown…is always long…but try to catch right at opening around 10 am

* Laugh Factory is fun, but need the right interacting crowd to make it special IMHO…as well the line set up here is just to hard for our crew w/ two separate waits.

* Utilizing some needed side entrances is OK for this park

* Adventureland is nearly empty after the nighttime parade and during Wishes

* Should really take time to check out all the small MAGICAL touches here

* Some of the best snacks, treats and counter service yummies are here

* It’s OK to deviate from the original plan based on unforeseen delays and you can do a repeat day at MK w/ no real Touring Plan in place

From our last Trip in 2009

We missed:

* Meeting the Fairies

* Dumbo

* Train around the park

* Opening show

* Wishes in front of the Castle

* Skipped MPHM

What we’d do again or should try to do:

* Early Morning Breakfast in the Park not necessarily an ADR

* Try to get to TSI ealier in the day

What not to do again for this trip 2010

* Swiss Family Treehouse

* ? tiki birds

* ? Laugh Factory

I should also mention one other potential MK moment on this trip….as you know on Matt’s top 5 list for things to do at WDW included a

“1-ride MK night”

He wants to w/ the close proximity of BLT to MK…to just pop over 1 night…go in, ride 1 ride and then leave….

Well there you go that is our MK plan for 2010
