I'm on a Character Hunt...

I'm making personalized autograph books for my kids for our upcoming and future trips. I thought it would be a fun game to see what characters we can find and on what trips. I've made a loooonnnnggg and pretty comprehensive list of the characters I'm thinking of including in their books. I know some of these are really rare and only seen during Halloween Parties, special events, etc.. That's fine with me as we will be filling these books over many trips--and the rarer the character, the funner the hunt. What I'm mainly concerned with are the characters we'll probably never see anytime, anywhere. I'd rather not waste time and supplies if possible.

So here's my plea to all of you DisGurus, please tell me if there any characters on my list we'll likely *never* see at Disneyland (even at special parties), if there's anybody I left out that I should add to the list, or if a certain character does not sign autographs.

I hope this list might also be of help to anyone else needing a fairly comprehensive list of DL characters. I'll update it as information becomes available and confirmed. Thanks in advance!

Anastasia as in the movie with Meg Ryan's voice? It's not actually Disney so I don't think characters from the movie would be around.


We have been totally happy just using the books you can get at Disneyland, but when I have thought of making a book, I think that I would rather do the work after the trip. Get a lovely piece of cardstock or something and carry those cards with you, have the characters sign one page, then when you get home, have a totally personalized, maybe even in order, book to put together with very specific decorations etc on each page, b/c you already had the experience.

That's just what I always think would be nice, when I think of a homemade book.

I've heard that Beast, Koda and Kenai are unable to sign autographs because of the hands/gloves on their costumes.

That is true, Koda and Kenai can be found in DCA and The Storyteller's character breakfast, but they cannot sign autographs because they have "paws".

To add to what DMP said he/she has seen, I saw Darby and Kim Possible at WDW last month. I remember because DH asked me who they were! And I know I've seen the Genie at DL a couple times. I wouldn't be surprised if they have Tinkerbell with all the new Pixie Hollow stuff they are planning.

I think the hardest ones to put into a walk-around-and-autograph costume are going to be the animals. Maybe you could have a few blank pages for "bonus characters", i.e. if they can get an autograph from anyone you didn't put on the official list, it's a bonus treat or something. There's always going to be someone we don't think of!

I don't think I have ever heard of an Abu being seen for photos. Same with some of the smaller characters like Darby.

Ariel- ppl have said she's sometimes at PFF, but I never go there. She's also at Ariel's Grotto and can be seen at PoD.
Atta (Bug’s Life)- A Bug's Land at DCA and seen in the Play Parade
Aurora- PFF, Ariel's Grotto, and seen in PoD
Baloo- Goofy's Kitchen and probably some other places too
Beast- I don't know if he's ever at PFF w/ Belle, but can be seen in PoD
Belle- Ariel's Grotto, PFF, I think Goofy's Kitchen, and seen in PoD

We have seen Abu (and Genie, Aladdin, Jasmine) in WDW right across from the Magic Carpet ride... There is a character spot there! We saw them during the MVMCP... We also met Jiminy Cricket that night, although he wasn't signing autographs... Good luck with your search!

My DS is a LE fanatic and we are going to the MTOTP on Oct. 31st. Do you happen to recall which of the 4 LEs were out? We particularly love Quincy, but meeting any of them will be a thrill for him.

The last time I saw them, I only saw Leo and June. I think June looks so cute!
