I have a solo trip coming up this December and I don't eat large meals. I realize that is mostly what Disney serves. Do they serve half portions? I know they don't, why do I ask? Why do they serve so much food? I plan on going to Le Cellier for the Candlelight Processional dinner plan. That is a lot of food. Does anyone know how big the filet mignon is. I can normally eat a 4 oz filet. I hate to waste food. With the appetizer, side and dessert, I don't know how much food they will throw away, but I want the preferred seating. In most cases I see myself just getting an appettizer and dessert at TS restaurants.

Opinions on how I can avoid stuffing myself and not leave half my food on the plate?

TIA

I agree, there should be some happy medium. It would be good to offer the same menu items but the option of a smaller portions, especially with so many dieters. I would maybe ask about that when making the reservations or call ahead a few days before to see if something could be made special (as far as size goes).

I am not familiar with the candelight plan; I assume you want to use that for the special seating? In that case, maybe you can pack the dessert to go and eat it later that night (esp if it's allowed in the show)... I hate throwing away food, too, so I completely understand. Hopefully that will be the only meal that offers you that much food and you can cut back in other areas?

My mom does the parks solo a lot and does counter service mainly; she almost exclusively eats the kids meal. They are still large portions at a very low cost and often quite good. When I go with her, I usually do the same and then we grab a snack later if we are hungry still (we usually aren't!)

I think the portions are huge because it's "the American way" LOL
