away. Well, not really, but I couldn't be happier with my weight loss results. I have consistently gained weight since DD12 was born, about 45 pounds total in the 12 years. I lost 20 of those pounds a few years ago just before going to HI but gained it back.

After several attempts at WW which always worked well for me in my 20s and 30s, I was starting to give up. Eating 1200 calories just doesn't equate to weight loss for me. So I tried NutriSystem and can I say YUCK! On July 6th I started Medifast and I am now (four weeks later) 16# lighter and 12" smaller:banana: I am so happy with these results. I know that I have many weeks more but it just seems to melt away...

Congratulations! I have a couple of friends who've used Medifast and they have also had great results and have kept it off for over a year :)

Wonderful! I have thought of doing Medifast as several friends have and have done well.

Congrats!

Good to hear that they've been able to maintain their losses! When I've had weight losses in the past, I've always been able to keep it off for a few years before I become lazy...

Congratulations to you!!! That is wonderful!! Can you share what Medifast is?

Thanks everyone.

Medifast is a high protein, low carb diet with supplements. Basically, you eat five of their meals (about $10/day) and one of your own that consists of 5-7 oz. protein and three servings of vegetables. There are some fats (salad dressings, olive oils, that sort of thing) and condiments that you can also have but it is best kept simple.

After the first few weeks I got it down to a science: two shakes, two protein bars, one pudding, and my dinner of choice... easy, no hunger, and FAST!

Do you have to go through a doctor to buy the Medifast products or can you order them on your own?

Congratulations to you....I just checked out their website, although I am happy for you it just seems that I could lose weight a little more cheaply....for a month following your diet with their products it came to about 378.00 that comes out to 23.00 per lb lost, so back on the eliptical I go.

 Chyam, you and I are just too pragmatic. My first thought was "holy cow! $10/DAY = >$300/month!"

OP, I'm proud of you for the weight loss. Everyone has to find their own way, and all of them are hard. Congrats for sticking it out. I'm right there with you--I'm doing WW since late April and so far have lost 30-lb. yay. Only 65-lbs to go :headache: I try not to think about it.

I think the ease/convenience/not having to think about food and portions is what helps.....although for those of us who may not be able to afford it right now, I wonder if just following a low carb/low fat/low calorie (medifast is between 800-1000 calories per day) diet would have the same results????????

Did you start off with their monthly assortment or did you purchase specific items? I have been looking at it, but was concerned about getting stuck with a bunch of things I don't like.

Congrats on the loss - thats great! One question - once you've lost the weight, what will you do then? Can you eat that for a lifetime, or will you do something else?
