i'm looking for....

payons. ds has been talking about these things since school started. the *mean* art teacher uses them all the time. and now he said YESTERDAY, i really hope santa puts payons in my stocking. OH GOOD GRIEF! i went to michaels last night hoping to find them in the fine art dept. but no luck.
anyone have any suggestions?
they are like a oil pastel but you use a brush with them and it makes it like a watercolor.

Oriental Trading has them, and if you pay the outrageous shipping of like $20, it can be there for Christmas.

Amazon has them too, but it's not from them, but another vendor. Not sure how reliable that is...

JoAnn's website isn't working. I'll call them in a minute.
Hobby Lobby isn't open today and they don't have listing of their items on line.
The ACMoore website doesn't say it has any.

I just searched online to see what stores sold these and Office Depot came up as one of the sources. Office Depot's website says they sell them online and in stores. They are Prang Payons Watercolor Crayons sold in a pack of 8 for $7.99 or a box of 12 for $8.99. Do you have an Office Depot near you? If you don't, I'll call mine and see if they have them and get them for you.

Here's the page on Office Depot's site where I found them. Also, I put a pack in my shopping cart and it said that shipping would be free and estimated delivery date was 12/23 so you could go that route too!

oh and by the way they don't carry them at my store, so it was a good thing i ordered them online. i put my zip code in and my local store did not show up.

Don't you just hate those last-minute must haves? I always found it worst with my eldest - with DS(9) he's often spoken to his big brother about things, or DS(15) has already said "this is the big thing this year" so I get in early But I bet he still says something after the shops shut on Christmas Eve
