I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

All I want is a man who will rock some Mickey ears and put up with my obsession. Sam tolerates it, but Mickey ears just aren't gonna happen. :rotfl:
I am so in love with all the photos from MK. It makes me very excited to be back in just 9 days!!! <-- Bluth banana. Oh you know I would love to ride Dumbo with you at night, by the way. Katelyn and I did that in November, the water and lights make it magical.

Oh, and that photo of Matt sneaking a peek a the mine train progress is just amazing. I want to show it to Sam and all my friends that just don't "get it".

So this is the one where you meet my friends and I'm not there. :) :( Happy and sad feels.
I know MSEP is your favorite, and I love it too. The retro-cheesy goodness of it all makes me get the warm fuzzies. Plus there is an amazing salute to America in there and you know I love that part for reasons Matt has brought up in your last TR. I'm sure he could actually write a completely new song for describing the Vacation Kingdom's undying patriotism. Maybe it is a subtle way to remind the tour groups to behave. :lmao: Sorry I'm not sorry. All of that aside, I would love for you to see Spectro glide down Main Street, USA as well.
Dopey's float is the cutest thing ever, and Pinocchio looks like the should have a maniacal laugh.
I find it hilarious that I was just going on about patriotic cheesiness then you post a picture of the America segment in front of HoP! :rotfl2:

I have now ridden POTC with all 5 of you and I must say I wish I could have been there. I think there's room for me in that photo.

I cannot wait to read the next update.

Haha, maybe one day Sam will wear them... ONE DAY! OMG I can't believe you're there in 9 days! That's so so exciting!! And I love the Bluth banana... WE WILL RIDE DUMBO TOGETHER ONE DAY!

You should show it to him! I think it would be very convincing because you really do lose yourself in the magic if you'll just allow yourself to!

Bah I know, I really wish you'd been there. It would've made it even better! And yeah, GOD BLESS THE USAAAAAA just seems to make it into all songs that Matt makes up about Disney attractions, so basically, it's gonna happen. :rotfl:

YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THAT BOAT WITH US, just ridin' along! It would've been nice.

Next update should be a goodie! Now I just need to actually write it, hahaha.

That's so great you got to watch MSEP with some DIS friends! :thumbsup2 I have never been much of a parade person, but MSEP is one I don't mind watching. I think it's a little more special because we first saw it as part of Summer Nightastic when we took our super last minute trip to WDW for a weekend, and I was just so excited to be back in my happy place! And then seeing it with Paxton last year was just such a wonderful experience. Now I'm a sap for that parade! I wouldn't be devastated if Spectro made a comeback, but for now I'm enjoying MSEP. :goodvibes

That is SO cute how Alice started talking to Matt about his ears! I never seem to be able to understand what she was saying, so I always thought it was a prerecorded voice! I'll have to pay better attention now to see if I catch anything she says.

SERIOUSLY. What is that giant head even from?!?! It's just weird and creepy in an otherwise happy and friendly parade.

Love that photo of Main Street with Matt's ears up front. :goodvibes

Yeah, it was fantastic! I'm the same way, not a big fan of parades but I LOVE MSEP. It brings back wonderful memories from our last trip and yeah... I know exactly what you mean. I'd love to see Spectro at some point though.

Haha it was adorable! We were all thrown off by it and I was like um... Matt, Alice is talking to you. :rotfl:

I DON'T KNOW. That head needs to head on out of the park and never return.

Aw yeah, Matt's a pro at photobombing, hahaha.

How interesting to read your report!

Thank you! I hope you're enjoying it! :)

Oh I so need you to see Spectro Dani!!! Not just on Youtube but in person. It needs to happen. I will let them know when I'm there in, oh yeah, 11 days.
I really really think you'll like it.
There are some creepy things in Spectro too though.

That is so cute and awesome with Alice and Matt's Buzz ears. It's those little extras that makes it all so awesome. :goodvibes

I know! I really do, but I don't know if it'll ever come back! Even Matt says that while he loves MSEP, Spectro was probably better. I've heard the Chernabog scene is pretty awesome though!

Yeah, that moment was super cute and not expected at all!

Yum dole whips!! I have to say I get bad with snack photos, I usually end up taking a bite or two and then remembering to grab a picture! I definitely do enjoy the parade, it’s getting a little old now, but it’s still fun, and the music is great to dance too! How cute that Alice loved the buzz ears! Yay!

Oh my gosh now I’m super excited for the next update!!

I love Dole Whips. I could go for one right now! I'm usually pretty good about photos but Dole Whips? Not so much! FAIL. I can see how the parade might be getting kind of old to people, but I dunno, seeing it is just such a big part of nights at MK, I love it. I thought it was pretty adorable that she noticed him! So cute.

I KNOW! I am going to work on writing it tonight. I can't even wait to post it.

So cool that you got to meet up with some IG friends! It's so strange how something like a photo app can bring people together! :cool1:

Ugh MSEP! I'm not a fan! I mean, I am because it's classic Disney and I remember it from my childhood trips but that MUSIC! It drives me crazy! :rotfl2: I'm much more of a Spectro girl! Bring back SPECTRO!!!! Have you heard the Spectro soundtrack??? OMG it's perfect. I can't even listen to it because it's so freakin perfect sometimes. The Disney magic in that 15 minutes of music is just too much for me.

Uh oh, tears the next day? Happy tears right? :thumbsup2

I know, I was super happy we got to meet them finally! I've made some awesome friends on there.

HAHAHA I had no idea you hated MSEP so much! :rotfl: We are opposites on that one, I LOVE the song. It's just so amazingly old school. Kind of like the Electrical Water Pageant. Super cheesy but amazing.

THAT BEING SAID, I do wish I could see Spectro! It sounds amazing from what everyone has said!

Yeaaahh, they're unfortunately not happy tears. :(

Hi Dani
Thanks for the update! How cool you got to meet some IG friends! That must be soo neat!!
I have to say the first time I saw Spectro I was mad, cause I wanted ti see the MSEP! But, I got to like Spectro! When MSEP came back I was happy to see it again! So I thibk Disney should keep rotating between them to make everyone happy!!!!
Cant wait for the next update to see the picture...but, yikes! Tears arent good!!!!

Chapter Twenty-Five: The attraction photo you've all been waiting for.
Day 5: January 21st, 2013

We woke up this morning at 7:30, because we had plans to head on over to Animal Kingdom this morning! I have to say, Animal Kingdom is one of those parks that 95% of the time we go to in the mornings, and then 5% we'll go in the very late afternoon/evening. I feel like it turns into an extremely hot place during the late morning/early afternoon. That and World Showcase, oof.

Anyway, we got ourselves ready and headed down to the bus stop, where we planned to meet Bruce and Amy. We were really excited for Bruce to see Animal Kingdom since he was sick during our last fun visit there. I was rockin' my Goofy headband/bow and happy to be in Disney World!

file_zpsa9aa87f6.jpg

Bruce and Amy showed up a few minutes after we got down there, and they seemed to be kind of tired, and Amy looked upset. I wasn't sure what was up, but we all chatted for a bit and fortunately, a bus showed up pretty quickly.

We all got on the bus and sat towards the back. Bruce and Amy were sitting across from us, and as we drove along, both Matt and I noticed that Amy was crying. We had no idea what was going on, and Bruce and her were talking pretty quietly across from the us. This DEFINITELY wasn't a normal thing at all for Amy, so we were both concerned but also didn't want to say anything in case they had had a fight or something.

When we finally got to Animal Kingdom, we got off the bus and as people passed by, we found out that Amy was feeling REALLY sick. The reason she was crying was because she didn't want to miss out on a fun morning in Animal Kingdom and REALLY didn't want to be sick. Apparently she barely had slept the night before because she was so sick. She was trying her best to push through it but couldn't, and she felt guilty, like she was ruining our trip.

This might sound weird but I was RELIEVED that this was why she was crying, because I got worried it was something more serious (or like Matt and I had done something). Anyway, we felt so so bad for her and reassured her it was totally fine for her to go back, that we were really sorry, etc. Bruce was going to go back with her to the resort, but Amy insisted he come with us because he was finally feeling good again.

We sadly waved goodbye to Amy as she headed back for the bus stop (she walked a bit with us in hopes of being able to shake off her illness), and moved on. Man, as much as we just wanted her to feel better and whatnot, I felt SO bad for her. I mean, I know I would have been the same exact way in her shoes: try to power through the sickness and just keep going. But when you feel THAT awful the tears just start to flow. It stinks.

We got through the entrance and showed Bruce everything since it was his first time ever being in Animal Kingdom.

file_zps1bf09a33.jpg

It was kind of rainy out this morning, so my nice camera stayed away for the first part of the day. We headed straight over to Expedition Everest because Bruce had been dying to go on it since before the trip. I'd taken video of Matt and me on it during our honeymoon and Bruce had seen it before, so he was super excited about it.

file_zpsac7ab039.jpg

Once we got there, we grabbed Fast Passes with a return time of 9:35am.

file_zpsbaa080e8.jpg

The standby line was only 15 minutes, so we headed right on!

file_zpsca85d370.jpg

file_zps264125cf.jpg

Bruce and Matt sat together after I told them they should go on it together for their first ride! And me? I was all by myself... being a creeper.

file_zps5bde9609.jpg

Clearly Bruce wasn't aware of where the camera was, but Matt was happy about life!

file_zps5ceb18b5.jpg

We all had so much fun, we went right back on it! I'm telling you, early mornings at AK mean LOTS of riding EE without lines!

This time, Bruce and I sat together, while Matt sat behind us with an overenthusiastic man. I think Bruce figured out the camera this time... except he thought it was on his side, hahaha.

file_zps99e24dbf.jpg

After we got off, we were able to get more FPs so we grabbed another set at 9:35, and then decided to go use our first FPs. So yes, 3 rides on EE!

It was raining REALLY hard when we went on, so we were getting whipped by the rain (though I don't think anything beat Matt and I being whipped by the rain on California Screamin' in Disneyland, hahaha)... but we had a TON of fun every single ride!

After our third trip with our Yeti friend, we decided to make our way over to Dinoland!

file_zpscc88243d.jpg

I'm not gonna lie, I am not a huge fan of this area. It just seems kind of out of place I guess... but nonetheless, Bruce and Matt REALLY wanted to go on Dinosaur. I had made the decision prior to the trip that I was NOT going on Dinosaur, because I'd heard of people being really sore after going on it... and I'd heard of scary things happening on that ride.

file_zps3f3bf8cf.jpg

As we got closer, I realized that if I was going to have to wait for them, it'd be outside in the rain... and it was raining pretty hard. So between the rain and then Bruce and Matt egging me on, I decided I'd give Dinosaur a shot with them. They both seemed pretty happy that I was going on, and I was just happy to be out of the rain for a few minutes.

The wait time said it'd be like 15 minutes, but it was more like a 20-25 minute wait.

file_zps60498b25.jpg

As we got closer, I was getting a little nervous. I mean, I'd just heard so many things about this ride, I had no idea what to expect!

Before we knew it, we were strapped into our car and away we went on an adventure to go find some dinosaur and bring him back with us.

Everything was a-okay at first. Oh, a dinosaur eating another one? That's kind of weird... then things got dark, and we were flying all over the place.

Then it happened. THAT FREAKIN' CARNOTAURUS. Oh my GOD. I saw his head pop out and I was somewhat okay, but then, well, let's just say I screamed in sheer terror.

We got off the ride and were all laughing because of how insane it was. We made our way over to the PhotoPass area because we were curious to see how the photo came out.

Ladies and gentlemen, I kid you not, the three of us DIED laughing when we saw the photo. I mean, out of control.

However, it wasn't until I got my PP+ photos sent to me and I was able to look at the photo up close that I realized just how hilarious this photo actually was.

I would also like to remind you (again) that I do NOT look like this normally but I seriously make the most ridiculous faces ever on rides when I'm genuinely scared.

So yes, what you all have been waiting for, I present our Dinosaur ride photo:

file_zps0c124c79.jpg

Now, let's study this a bit closer, shall we?

file_zps22352a6b.jpg

First, we have Bruce. Somehow, through thick and thin, Bruce is ALWAYS SMILING IN THESE SITUATIONS. Oh, what's that? You have a meteor about to hit your head? Just smile through it! Let's also note the enthusiastic Dad behind Bruce, who is somehow video taping a ride that is completely in the dark? Oh, okay sir.

Next, is Matt.

file_zps3569630e.jpg

This photo KILLS me. WHY IS MATT STARING AT THE CAMERA?! Oh my GOSH we keep laughing at this one because he has this creepy staredown going on with the camera! I literally just asked him now why he made this face; he does not know. He had no idea the camera was even in that direction. Also, note the tiny boy behind him, who is clearly not sure what the crap just came out of nowhere at him.

And then... there's me...

file_zps07f11750.jpg

Guys, I just can't even describe it. I was seriously SO SCARED. I had no idea that would happen on the ride, even though I thought I'd done my research. NOPE. I do NOT do well with things popping out at me; I'm very easy to scare.

So of course I would be sitting in the seat that gets the worst of it. I remember throwing my hand up in my face, thinking THAT would somehow protect me from a terrifying dinosaur. Matt and Bruce laughed so hard at my face/hand gesture and we all still do.

Like, when I just pulled up this set of photos, I sat here laughing with tears streaming down my face.

It's really the perfect attraction photo. And yes, feel blessed I've shared it with you guys because that is NOT a flattering photo of me, but it's far too funny not to share with the world. Clearly.

ANYWAY, hopefully you guys found that as funny as we did/continue to find it. It's seriously the gem of our attraction photos from this trip.

Next, we finish playing around in Animal Kingdom, then head off to one of our favorite places to eat!

Continued in next post

I'm always glad to put out a new update, woohoo! It was wonderful meeting them!

Yeah, rotating would be nice! I'd love to see Spectro at some point, but I don't know that it'll ever happen. :(

And yeah, I think you'll enjoy my latest update (above), haha. :rotfl:

You are so right about Animal Kingdom being hot. You'd think with all the trees it would shade, but nyet.

Poor Amy, bless her heart. :flower3:

That little girl peaking around the seat in the first Matt and Bruce Everest photo cracked me up.

Multiple EE!! I approve heartily! :thumbsup2

Well what to say about Dinosaur... Best ride photo EVER. I love myself a photo with a real reaction.

But you know what.. the best thing to me is your's and Matt's picture together.
It's like a scene from the Office. There's your great "reaction" shot, and there's Matt (AKA Jim Halpert) looking right at the camera. I think you planned that. :lmao:

You need to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal in September if it's started by then. Something tells me you would be priceless there. :scared1:

Sucks that Amy wasn’t feeling good! Especially that not good, boourns! I’m lucky enough to have not been that sick in Disney, but I know the tears would start to flow if I was haha.

Great EE shots, love AK in the morning for that, it’s so awesome! Aw man, that sums up my feelings about Dinosaur, and as if you were in the worst seat for it all! I’ll go on that ride once a trip, and insist on sitting on the far left of the truck, nope, nope nope, don’t like it! Thanks for sharing the hilarious photo!

Aw that's such a bummer that Amy wasn't feeling well :( But awesome that you guys got to ride EE 3x in a row:thumbsup2 OMG that ride photo is amazing, I didn't think it could top your TOT photo but it does!! haha :)

The picture was funny. But then breaking it down like that made it hilarious! I am still laughing and will be laughing about it the rest of the evening and most likely into tomorrow! So! Funny!!

Omg, I'm dying laughing over here. I purposely sit on the wrong side and then look away when the dinosaur comes out. We went with friends and they were cracking up at the photo because I was totally looking in the wrong direction. They said I looked lost

Also: I've been seeing your tweets about PAX. Do you guys ever go to PAX East? We're planning on it next year, my husband said there's a whole room dedicated to table top games, so I'm excited for that. We were going to go this year, but we weren't able to get a room in the hotel attached to the convention center and didn't want to spend a fortune on cabs. Last year we moved when it was happening (we had the hotel booked and tickets for that one!) So maybe the 3rd year is the charm!!

:rotfl: That ride photo is awesome! Dinosaur is the one ride that genuinely scares me too (after the first time I went on I was cowering in our picture-like I had my head down, eyes closed, everything...I was so scared). I have gotten better at the good old Carnotaurus part but the one at the very end... OH MY GOD.

PS, I still think your Epcot shirt is so awesome. I do not know why I didn't get it when we were there. I may have to send my sister some money to get it for me...haha

Another great update! Dinosaur was our first ride ever at AK, and it absolutely terrified Melissa. She won't go back on it...and she loves Dinosaurs. It doesn't help that she isn't too fond of Indiana Jones at DL either, which is super similar.

It was also fun to read about you guys enjoying exploring resorts. That is one of our very favorite WDW things to do, and I know a lot of people just don't get it, but we have a ball doing it. Whether in a park, at a resort, or doing extra laps on a monorail it is all WDW and lots of fun. :thumbsup2

I've never actually had a Dole Whip, but from what I've heard, they're awesome, so forgetting to take pictures of them seems perfectly reasonable to me!

I love MSEP (even the music! Which from the age of 3 until recently was all I had to go on from that parade) but I do wish that they would update with some new floats. Seriously, who even knows what Pete's Dragon is, outside of crazy Disney people, such as myself, or people who are over the age of 40?

Oh no! Now Amy's sick too? I really hope you and Matt were able to avoid the sickness!

Ohmygoodness, that photo is EXCELLENT! Your first-time-on-this-ride photos are always the best! And I love how the kid behind Matt and Matt are basically making the exact same face, just looking in different directions. Perfect!

Oh my gosh... poor Amy! It's sad that they both had to get sick on this trip! Such a bummer. :(

Matt sure gets stuck with some interesting people on rides, doesn't he?

BAHAHA. I have to admit at first when I saw the picture, I was like, what's so funny about it? But when you did the zoomed in shots with the explanation I could NOT stop laughing. :lmao:

First I just want to say that I am so sorry for Amy. I hope she feels better quickly so she can enjoy her trip. I would have to say, that at this point in their trip, both Bruce and Amy deserve a do-over WDW vacation.:)

Secondly, your picture is hilarious, Dani. :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing it. You provided some much needed humor in my day. Seeing your ride photos makes me want to buy the Photopass+ next time so my family can laugh at our goofy ride photos again and again too. :rolleyes1

I look forward to more of your posts. You are a great writer.

:rotfl2: Oh my goodness Dani your ride photo just made my week! That was amazingly awesome just like you!

Mannn...such a bummer that now Amy is sick :-( Being sick in Disney is the worst! I know that feeling of feeling awful and trying to push through...I understand why she was crying. Sending her delayed feel better hugs.

I. HATE. DINOSAUR!!!! I think it is honestly one of the scariest rides ever!!! And the last time we were there, the family in front of us kept lying to their poor 5/6 year old to get her on it. And then it broke. They offered to let us go again (I was ready to get off, but my parents decided to stay), but at least the family finally caught on that she was miserable and got off. Course, then it broke AGAIN. I will say that if possible, it's even creepier when you're going through at 2 mph to no sound. Plus after reading Kingdom Keepers, I still half expect the animatronics to come to life and chase me.

But at least you got hilarious pictures out of it!! I laughed out loud, which was slightly embarrassing since I was on the bus haha.

Hahaha after watching the video, it makes everything even funnier now that I'm hearing some of the stories behind it!

OMG that is a giant rice krispie treat!! I'm going to guess that didn't count as a snack on the dining plan, haha.

I love your night shots at Storybook Circus! Was it easy to adjust your camera settings to getting good night shots at Disney? That's one of the things I'm a little nervous about with my new camera.

Love your hitchhiking ghosts picture!! That's definitely one of the best ones I've seen of them.

MSEP is the only nighttime Disney parade I've seen, so I have nothing to compare it to - but I LOVE it. And Pinnochio kind of has a Mr. Burns vibe going on there.

Poor Amy! I can't believe she got sick too - I guess the only benefit to getting sick at Disney is when you're back in the room you have Stacey to comfort you?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha *breathe* hahahahahahahaha.
