Oh no! I Hope they feel better soon!

I'm sure they will. And it's bound to be warmer a little further out, so maybe the kids will even get pool time to make up for the delay!

What timing! I'm sure WDW will let you move things around, though.

At least after this they'll be done with the pox, though...that's something!

im positive disney will understand and make changes for u, sending prayers that everything works out

Oh no! I'm sure they will understand.
This is why we always put insurance on our trips. We are prone to back luck like this.

:grouphug:
Hope there C pox goes quickly and easily! I am sure Disney will work with you, pls let us know :wizard:

Oh goodness, fingers crossed for you and a speedy recovery for your little ones.

OMG, this is so awful!!!! :sad1:

I hope they can do something for you. And I hope the kids are feeling better soon.

Please update when you can!

Thanks everyone!

Well, we have until Friday morning to decide what to do.

Option A ~ pay $50 to change our dates but we have to travel before March 27th to get the same deal.

Option B ~ pay $50 to change our dates and travel after March 27, booking under the current promo which will cost us more money

Option C ~ pay $200 and just cancel

Option D ~ go as planned and hope for the best.

The CM I spoke with said they would not be the first kids to travel to Disney with chicken pox and that all the first-aid facilities are equipped to deal with any problems they might have and that the hospital in Celebration is excellent if we need them.

But I feel like a totally irresponsible parent to even be considering that. I'm sure the CM was right and that it happens all the time but it just seems wrong. He said he couldn't make that decision for us and that he totally understood my concerns but he just wanted to throw that option out there.

After talking to Disney, I called our ped after hours numbers and got to talk to our regular ped. She wants to check them out tomorrow to see the progression of their rashes. They've had the vaccination so they should have mild cases. They've also had symptoms for almost a week. So our ped thinks that we might actually be on the tail end of it.

Which that makes me feel bad too because I've apparently had two kids with chicken pox for a week and not even realized it! Our oldest has even been in school all week!

Anyway, for now, we're hope for lots of healing pixie dust and we'll decide tomorrow after seeing the ped what to do.

Sending lots of healing pixie dust your way, hope all goes well at the ped tomorrow. Good luck with your decision, please update when you decide. Hang in there!

If they are acting normally, why not go??? I'm sure they're not contagious anymore. If the dr. gives you the go ahead, then I would go. I wouldn't think you are a bad parent.

:sad1: I think everyone with kids has worried about a dilemma just like this.

FWIW - if you can do different dates with school/work - since this is your first family trip :goodvibes, personally - I would reschedule for as late in March as possible for your peace of mind AND for better weather.:goodvibes I'd worry about the baby coming down with the POX mid-trip.
