I'm hoping the online chat CMs aren't typically reliable???

I was pricing out different options AGAIN and the little chat box popped up. Just for fun, I said yes, I'd like to chat with someone.

So I a question and then when the girl asked if I had any more questions I said, "No, just patiently waiting for a discount for fall so I can book our trip."

And she said not to expect anything for fall until at least June because "typically" Disney never offers discounts for further in the future than 3 months out. Now, I know that is false because the current deal is through June and it's been out since January. She encouraged me to "hurry up and book" because I was risking not getting my resort of choice if I wait much longer.

Yea... I'm super worried about not getting a room at POR or POFQ in mid-September unless I book RIGHT. NOW.

Are the online chat people usually this "helpful"?
 
I think they can be as helpful as those on the phone...like the one who insisted I got 2 snacks a day on the regular Dining Plan...:rolleyes:
And as far as Disney NEVER offering discounts further than 3 months out...I booked our May 2011 Free Dining trip in December of 2010. :teeth:
 
Do you think they could mean they don't release it more than 3 months before the start date? We already booked for September with a room discount, but we would switch the discount to FD if it comes out.
 
I do not think they are that reliable. I did the online chat last week and asked if was possible to add on the dining plan to a room only reservation if we had annual passes. She told me no, there was no way to do this. Come to find out, very possible! She kept giving me very generic answers :/
 

i'm actually pretty convinced that it isnt even a real person you chat with but a computer.

they are always generic answers and they rattle on about stuff you aren't even talking about. I got into an argument with one once, ha, becuase I was so frustrated it didnt understand what I was saying and it was not something complicated at all, a real person would have understood.

if you are looking for facts about disney world or certain hotel information its probably helpful, but anything that takes a human brian, not helpful at all.

Very interesting thought....This makes sense when I think back to an online chat session I had a few months ago. It was the first negative feedback I've ever given in my life when that little survey popped up afterward. I had very specific questions and no matter which question I asked, the online person gave me the same answer which made no sense in relation to my question. Then the online person ended the conversation by saying thank you for contacting disney and then hung up on me! It was so frustrating that I gave negative feedback. Makes me feel better to think maybe a computer did this to me rather than a real person!!
 
i've often wondered if they get a bonus based on how many bookings they make because they always say "You better hurry and book yadda yadda yadda"

Last year, due to work commitments etc we really didn't know exact dates until 4 weeks before but I called at least once a week over a 3 month period to check for pin codes etc and they said every single time "You better hurry and book yadda yadda yadda" so I had a list of plan b, c, d ,e, f, g thru z because I was now convinced that there would be hardly anything available.... when I eventually booked I got everything I set out to book on Plan a no trouble :confused3
