Well as of today, I am officially "Home".

I am so thrilled to be a member of DVC, my fiance and I look forward to many years, and memories at Disney. (Surprisingly we bought into DVC with children not really being a part of our future plans, I guess we're just children at heart, plus we love to spoil our nieces, and nephews.)

For all you Veteran DVCers I was curious what the dining plan is for DVC members. All I can seem to find is the Magic Your Way Package, and we don't need rooms (Obviously), or tickets (We have APs).

I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Also please forgive me if I post questions that are already answered... I'm very new to this board, and DVC, and can't search right now. :-(

WELCOME HOME !!! and CONGRATULATIONS !!!

You may purchase Disney Dining Plan if you wish when staying on points; just call MS at least 48 hours before your check-in date to have DDP added to your reservation, it is not necessary to purchase park tickets in ordre to be on DDP. When you check-in is when DDP is paid for either by cash or credit card and each person listed on reservation must be on the dining plan & it must be purchased for entire length of the stay (based on # of nights your reservation is for). iirc there are 3 different plans to choose from ( check out Dining board - probably can give more info ). It seems most popular is approx $40 per adult per day and offers per day 1 snack, 1 counter serve meal with beverage (non-alcoholic) and one table service meal per day which includes entree & dessert and non-alcoholic beverage.

Welcome home!!!

While we have used the DDP with DVC stays, we don't consider it to be a good value. We do much better using the TIW card with the AP.

I was also curious about this as a new DVC member. We're staying at our home resort, VWL, at the end of June - our 1st trip using DVC. Since we will probably only be staying 1 week per year, the AP didn't look like an option for us. We will probably be using the basic DDP and eating breakfast in the room.

I appreciate the responses on this board. There is a vast amount of knowledge to tap into.

Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate the kindness on this board, I'm very new to all this, and it's great to have a community where everyone is so nice, and willing to help.

:welcome:

Remember, you can get 2 vacations from an AP if you plan your vacations right. We have a vacation planned for Oct 2009 and are planning the next one for Sept. 2010 so we can use the same AP and also purchase the TIW card.

Just a quick question, What is a TIW card?

Thanks

wow thank you very much. We were considering getting the ddp but knowing that it gives us the freedom to eat when and where we want without having to be somewhere by a certain time. The dining plan was great for character meals but I always was worried about dragging the kids out of whatever they where doing to eat (when sometimes we weren't even hungry.
