I'm Gonna Push the Button! re-do

I am on a mission to remedy the ticket issue that has plagued my family this trip and caused us to lose many magical, precious and un-crowded:crowded: minutes in the parks. I am heading to the front desk planning my presentation and reminding myself that it doesn’t usually pay to get angry. I must present my issue in a calm manner that accurately reflects the aggravation  this problem has caused me.
I hit the desk and immediately ask for a manager because I know that the CM will not resolve my problem. However, I am required to present my issue to the CM so she can make sure she can’t fix the problem. So I tell her that I checked my Park Hopper tickets (2 of them) on the first day here and the CM said there weren’t any visits left on them and threw them out. I was pretty sure that I had 1 day left on each pass. I also checked my son’s ticket which I believed had 1 park day and 2 water parks and more visit left on it. The CM informed me that I didn’t have any park visits left but I did 2 water-park and more visits. The CM had me buy extra days on a separate ticket because she scanned my son’s ticket many times but could not add the days on. The CM told me I could still use the old ticket to get into the water park or laser quest and I needed to use the new ticket for the theme parks. I continue to explain that I could not get into Laser Quest and had to purchase admission. I went to the desk for a 2nd time and explained my problem to the CM who proceed to scan my ticket and do some things on the computer and informed me that I was all set. I am now back for the 3rd time  because I couldn’t get into Blizzard beach and spent ½ an hour of my EMH trying to get to the bottom of the problem until I was informed that it had to be resolved at the hotel desk.
Okay, the CM tells me, I’ll get someone :confused3 . (I knew she couldn’t help me)
I meet some kind of manager and try to size him up and decide whether or not he can help me. I am not sure:confused3 .

I have to repeat the whole story again:headache: .

The manager then scans said ticket and says that there is 1 park visit and 2 extra visits but the CM invalidated the ticket. I tell him I knew there was a park visit on there but the CM told me no. He explained that she must have counted the day we hopped parks as 2 visits because it looks like 2 visits on the computer and you have to look at the dates closely. I said well that doesn’t help me with the 2 tickets she threw out and told me there weren’t any visits left because I was pretty sure each adult ticket had 1 park hopper day left apiece. I wouldn’t have saved the tickets if there wasn’t any days left.

He doesn’t really say much but he looks like he is thinking:scratchin , for a while. What is he thinking about? I just don’t know. Maybe he is trying to decide if I am being honest. Did the CM really throw out 2 of her park hopper tickets?

He then prints out 3 tickets. Not just any 3 tickets but 3 almighty :genie: tickets. He explains the power of these almighty :genie: tickets. One ticket will get you into any park (theme park, water park, pleasure Island or laser quest) you can park hop between all parks (theme park, water park, pleasure Island or laser quest). You could go to Blizzard beach, laser quest Magic Kingdom and Epcot in the same day using this one ticket. They are also unlimited fast-passes and you get a night in the castle. Okay the fast-pass and Castle part was just wishful thinking but the 1st part is true. I never knew such a ticket existed.

So let’s tally this up I lost 3 regular park hopper days and 2 extra visits. I got into Blizzard beach free because I made a huge stink and I got three almighty :genie: tickets. I guess that is okay because he really didn’t have to believe me about the other tickets that the CM threw out. I’ll have to carefully plan when I use the Almighty Tickets to get the most bang for my buck. I still have 2 of them they expire in 2017.

Wow! I am so happy they got your ticket situation not only fixed but upgraded. :thumbsup2 Gotta love Disney Magic.

I was pleased with the tickets but I am afraid :worried: to use them because I want to maximize there potential so I keep buying new ones and holding on to the almighty tickets:genie: Oh well I have until 2017, I guess I'll figure it out by then:)

Wow. You encounter a lot of stupid people! The ringer at Target, the idiot that threw your tix away...wth is up w/ that anyway? People SAVE their tickets for scrapbooks and such! She had no right throwing them away.

Love the pics of the boys in their jerseys! So cute.

Where are you!? I just realized we'll be in the World at the same time. Where will you guys be this time? Maybe we can meet up for a few minutes and take some pics while we're down there. If ya want we can swap numbers. :goodvibes Katiebug will be there too.

Only 13 more days until my Christmas trip:banana: therefore only 13 more days to finish this trip report:scared1:

I am here and would like to meet up tell me how to PM and I will let you know our schedule:thumbsup2

It has taken me so long to write this report that I am now fuzzy :confused3 on the order of parks and have to decipher my chicken scratch notes. Note to self, TAKE BETTER NOTES!

We decided to nap the children and add an unplanned evening at the Magic Kingdom and see where it leads us. We hit the Magic Kingdom, the intense sun:sunny: was beginning to die down and we had no plan, which left me with a very strange :upsidedow feeling because we always have a plan.

We landed in adventure land and there weren’t any lines. I tortured  my older boys by dragging them into the Tiki tiki tiki, tiki room. We rode the magic carpets, the jungle cruise and pirates of the Caribbean. We needed dinner and decide to eat at Pecos Bills. Let me just say  YUK, YUK AND YUK. Nobody liked the food and DS#3 threw up  all over his tray.

What does one do with a tray full of vomit? I wasn’t sure because I never experienced this before. I am sure none of the Pecos Bills CMs want it, I don’t want it and I am surely not going to clean the puke off of it. Ultimately I decide it is best for all parties involved that I just shove the whole tray in the trash. They looked like they were closing up shop for the night anyway. I think that was the best choice but I did notice some of the CMs trying to figure out :confused3 where the smell was coming from and I sure do feel bad for the guy who had to empty that trash bin, YUK!

DS#3 wasn’t sick, He has had reflux since he was a baby and between the heat, all the fried food and soda his stomach couldn’t take it. He threw up several times that trip. I’ll have to make a mental note for the next time we take a trip in the heat, less soda and fried food for him.

We finished just in time for spectro-magic. I wish we spent more time in the parks at night. Note to self. If you go in August again go to the parks at night:idea: We find a spot next to this mom and her grown daughter and ask if it is okay if we join them in their small area and they say sure! I am :thumbsup2 psyched! We are right in front and have about 20 minutes until show time. We chat with the nice :goodvibes people next to us. Then DS#3 gives me his infamous, ”Mom I gotta poop.: Really? Really? You have to go right now? Everywhere we go I hear the, I gotta poop, I think he does it on purpose. I manage to distract him and it seems he forgot about his need. Before you know it the parade starts.

Another family decides to squeeze :crowded: into our small space but I hold my ground. This family continues to try and push their way up front. There was a mom, a dad, a 7 year old and a 3 year old. Still we hold our ground. The mom proceeds to pick up the 3 year old and try to drop him in front of me and my 3year old. Not gonna happen! I say, “you can’t put him up there, there is no room.” She looks very surprised but pulls back her son. However, her older son manages to push his way in front of my two older boys while her husband kept sticking his video camera in my face until I told him that I couldn’t see with that camera in my face. He was surprised also, how could you not notice that was in my face? I can’t believe how rude these people were. Why do you deserve to get in front of my family when we were there 1st? I believe everyone has one of these stories and that was mine.

We stick around to watch wishes. DS#3 loved it, loved it, loved it! The look on amazement on his face was precious. I think that I watched him watching wishes more than I actually watched wishes myself.

We had a really nice unplanned evening. Another note to self, sometimes it is okay not to plan every second of the day. We squeezed our way down Main Street and caught a bus back to the Beach Club, had the customary, I’m Gonna Push the Button dispute and went to bed!

The next day we planned to go back to Universal. However the thought of returning to universal was akin to a forty-day barefoot hike through Death Valley :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: and I just couldn’t subject my family to it again. Akin to, not a phrase I commonly use but I’m branching out so I’ll keep it.

The decision not to return to Death Valley Left us with one big question, What Should we do here on our 2nd to last day at Disney World? We decided to take it one step at a time. The 1st step was :thumbsup2 breakfast. I have heard so much about the infamous Tonga toast  here on the dis-boards and decided that our morning mission was to locate this mysterious :tink: and illusive toast. I’m not so sure about the name Tonga, what exactly does that mean? What is a Tonga? It doesn’t sound very appetizing. It sounds more like footwear or very skimpy underwear. Regardless of what the name sounds like, I really wanted to try it. We drove :car: to the Poly because I knew that I could find it there but I wasn’t sure exactly where. We found it easy enough and had a very nice breakfast. I was the only one who got the Tonga toast. I feel like I should say I loved it and it was the most amazing thing that I have ever had for breakfast but it didn’t live up to my expectations given all the hype. It was sort of like going to see a movie that everyone says was incredible and then seeing it and feeling like it was okay. It never lives up to all the hype. I like to see movies that people say weren’t all that great. Then my expectations are low and I wind up thinking that the movie was great. I bet if someone told me the Tonga toast sucked then I would have loved it! Anyway, I would probably get it again.

After breakfast we tried on silly hats and did some shopping.

Then we decided to take a dip in the poly pool because we could pool hop. I’m never sure how the pool-hopping thing works. Do we check in? I feel like we should let someone know that we are here. Plus, I would like some sort of greeting :welcome: or acknowledgment of our arrival. I kind of expect a warm reception, “Oh great, Lilo and Donald are here with their 3 boys Huey, Dewey and Louey, so glad to see you!” That never happens, except in my head. The boys took a swim and tried the volcano slide. I could hear DS #2 woo hooing :stitch: it through the enclosed volcano every time he went down the slide. I’ll tell ya, no one will ever accuse that boy of being quiet, and he is always making noises. Growing up my mother was always saying she just wanted 5 minutes of peace and quiet just 5 minutes of peace and quiet! I get it now! Some days I hide in the bathroom, not because I have to go but because I need 5 minutes of peace and quiet, just 5 minutes of peace and quiet!

We dried off and then just rode the monorail. We did the full loop just for the fun of it. I’m not sure where the rest of the day went. but I believe napping, swimming and cocktails :drinking1 were involved. Ultimately we dined at ESPN club and there was some sports trivia going on, the boys enjoyed trying to guess the answers. We decide it would be fun to swim at the Boardwalk. This is our home resort and we haven’t been since I was pregnant with DS#3. I started thinking about which resort is better. My friend will only stay at the BCV because of the pool. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t rate one resort higher than the other. Granted the swimming complex of BCV has more to offer than the BWV but each Disney resort has own unique charm and I enjoy staying at each one. I am trying to stay in them all but they are building them quicker than I can afford to vacation! We dried off and headed back to the BCV to rest up for our last full day of vacation. Of course we hit the hotel and heard the magical tunes of DS #1, #2 and #3, “I’m gonna push the button!”

Hopefully I can post my last day sometime tomorrow because we leave Wednesday:banana:   and I wanted to finish one trip report before I started another trip:woohoo: Not packed yet :scared1: so I have to hope to it:)

Call me! I am packed, finally...for the most part anyway. I still have a lot of stuff to do though. Where are you guys staying again? I think I put your #'s in my phone but send them over just in case. I'll probably leave the phone at home anyway. That's why I sent you all both numbers just to be safe. :rotfl2:

Back from Short December trip:sad: , still not done with last report (not sure whats wrong with me:crazy2: ) looking forward to August trip:cool1:

We're Aug 19-30th. Will you be there then?
If all goes according to plan we will be there from the 13th to the 28th:thumbsup2 . Right now we are booked at AKV the 16th to the 23th and hoping to spend the 23rd to the 28th at the Wilderness Lodge. So yes we will be there part of the time. Sorry we never touched base in December but it was a very short trip with some snags. Arrival night we were checking in after 1:30 AM, hours later than expected only to be greeted by torrential downpours and a tornado watch (really, I'm not exaggerating) the next morning. This threw my whole schedule off. The rest of the trip went well the weather was cool but compared to the ice storm we got in MA it was great:) My school was actually canceled :thumbsup2 while I was in Disney. I wish I could go again in December but being a teacher I can't be out for a full week:upsidedow

Well at least you didn't miss school! When we went last August the kids missed 6 days but day 6 they were dismissed for a Hurricane coming up the coast so really they missed 5. We had great weather the whole time. It rained for just a few minutes very lightly in the AK one day and that was it. Every other day was hot but not too hot....just perfect. I started my TR. Check it out. We may have crossed paths those first couple of days???

I'm only part way through your report but am marking my place and I'll definitely come back for more. Your boys are adorable!

And Aunt Dory in her bloomers! :rotfl:

Beach Club Villas... :cloud9:

I feel like our families are twins seperated at birth. First time we went with my 3 boys and their dad, we adopted the nickname Mr. Crabby Pants for DH. It stuck for quite a while. My boys were 7, 5 and 5 at the time. I had taken the oldest by himself when he was 5. When we left WDW he told his brothers "trust me guys its much more fun with just mom." I started substituting when the boys were all in school and have taken them all over spring break almost every year since. Mr Crabby Pants has only returned once. He says he is going this summer with us but we will see. He hates traveling and is not overly fond of Disney.

My oldest is like your oldest. He thought he was very brave but was not. His twin brothers were doing things there is no way he would do. Of course now at 15 he does everything. The one thing he has going for him that the twins do not is he is incapable of getting motion sick. Nothing fazes him. After Mission Space I threw up, (I did make it to the restroom) and the twins had the dry heaves. Oldest, on the other hand, wanted to ride it over and over. The twins are quite the characters like your DS2 and 3.

Now I have the perfect solution for the door and elevator thing. We had massive bickering about it. Finally I came up with this. I would assign a day to each son. If the number of days were not divisible by 3, I would take the left over day. On their day they would answer the wake up call and always had door and elevator duty. We never had any fights after that. Of course now that they are 15, 13 and 13 they couldn't care less about the door and elevator and they sleep thru the wake up calls. :rotfl2:

We love to pool hop, we are DVC members also. When the boys were little we would always go to the Poly. They loved the volcano.

Thank you for writing about your trip. It is bringing back such memories from our past trips.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can:rotfl2: I will eventually post the last day so I can print out this trip report and add it to the scrapbook (that I'm gonna make :hourglass some day) I've finished my December trip and booked my next August trip:cool1: and just can't finish this report.

We spent the last  day at the Magic Kingdom and actually made it for opening ceremonies pixiedust: The Temperature at opening ceremonies was a cool 9000 degrees. My DS#2 has this croup  thing and the extreme heat and AC all week really aggravated it. However, nothing could stop us on our last day. We actually rented DS#2 a wheelchair because he is to big for a carriage and of course DS#3 was in his carriage. My memories are sketchy so I have to consult with the rest of the crew and look at my pictures before I add any more:)
