pray for me. :lmao: DS7 told me he was just dying to go see "Gravedigger" (apparently a well KNOWN monster truck  ). The Monster Truck Jam is coming to town tomorrow night, so.... Although I'd rather eat glass, looks like me and the little man are heading over to the coliseum tomorrow night to see Gravedigger crash some cars. It'll all be good I guess since it's sure to be good quality time with DS. Here's hoping I can still hear come Saturday. :goodvibes

Um, have fun.

Bring ear plugs.

Anne

Never been, thank goodness, DH takes DS to this one. Monster trucks is coming to our town in Feb. This year they're going with the Scouts.

DH says its very loud, so yes bring ear plugs.

Have fun!

Another thought - they often do several motocross races, too, with varying sizes of motorcycles & 4-wheelers.

And sometimes the grand finale is a demolition derby. Really exciting when one of the cars catches on fire!:lmao:

OMG you are soo lucky my DS 10 would love to go see Monster Jam... we watch it nightly on TV ... Have a blast !!!!

OMG....you brought back flashbacks of one of my most traumatic moments!:scared1:

My husband won free tickets and goaded our oldest son and myself to accompany him....oh...my....lord, worst mistake EVAH!:sad2:

I was surrounded by about a million drunk rednecks, a woman that was pretty much toothless and threatening to kick my *** b/c I kept complaining about the smell (I guess she thought I was talking about HER....the freakin' exhaust fumes must not have crossed her mind:rolleyes: ), I was almost overcome by the fumes and I am pretty sure I suffered some hearing damage.

We only stayed about 30 minutes....worst 30 minutes of my life! Yes, it was that traumatic.....:lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: :rotfl2:

I think my strategy is going to be to wear earplugs and sit near an exit. I'll try to file a TR on Saturday ;)

Great! let's hope you enjoy it more than you think you will.

We too are taking DS to see Monster Jam soon!!!
We had tickets for last year, but then we couldn't go, and gave them to my sister's kids. So, DS is really looking forward to it! Anyway, I had posted an almost identical thread to yours last year when we first bought the tickets... Know just what you are saying!

You mention GraveDigger... Do you know for sure that GraveDigger will be at your Jam??? There are a limited number of trucks at each Jam, and GraveDigger cannot be at all of them. I looked it up under 'events and tickets' on monsterjam.online, and no GraveDigger for us. I have already told DS which ones will be there, so he won't be surprised and disappointed.

Have a great time!!!

And, since I have not been to one before either, PLEASE update this thread and tell me all about it after you go!

Been there, done that - yes, bring ear plugs. And be prepared to smell like exhaust fumes for a while.;)

Oh great :rotfl: Now I'm gonna smell like exhaust fumes :rotfl:

We're going next month with a group of friends from church. DS4 is looking forward to it since he and daddy went last year during a snow storm none-the-less. He talked me into going with them this year (even though I really didn't want to go).

ITA-the smell and the sound is terrible !

The TV ads are all touting Gravedigger. I looked it up on the MonsterJam site. Although I couldn't find a specific list of who's to appear here tomorrow night, apparently there are about 10 Gravediggers. Maybe we'll get "lucky".

Okay, I looked it up.
If it is Greensboro tomorrow, your DS will see Gravedigger!
Here is what they have listed:

Vehicle Information
USHRA Monster Trucks including Grave Digger, Turtle, Predator, Pouncer, The Broker, Thrasher, Bad News, and Rap Attack. Trucks are subject to change without notice.

OMG!!! I took my 2 and 3 yr old DGSs in early 2005 to the Superdome to see GraveDigger!! I guess because the Dome is so large, the smell was not that bad, but it was noisy. We had ear plugs. The boys had a blast. Every time one of the cars would flip over, they had a huge crane come out to lift them upright!!! OMG!! Big monster trucks and huge cranes! It doesn't get any better for small boys!! Your son will have a ball.

WOO HOOO  they're coming to Orlando the 27th. I think I'll surprise my guys with tickets. I'll be wife/mom of the year for sure!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We are taking our kids to Baltimore to see a Monster Jam at the end of February. My kids aer bouncing off of the walls excited! I am excited to see the look on my sons (3) face when he sees all of the trucks up close and personal. He lives and breathes monster trucks.
