My Disney packet arrived this week, so I am all set for an adventure.
Normally I can get one of my kids to go with me, but my oldest (Amy) just went with me in December (See TR below).
Andy was also on that trip and does'nt have any vacation time left.
His shop is very busy preparing for the LOTO Shootout, a fund raising event where boats go as fast as they can in a straight line for one mile. It is the largest unsanctioned race in the USA. The money goes to local charities, fire departments, etc.
His shop has been challenged to a drag race and they will use this boat for the challenge:
They are entering this boat in the Shootout:
My middle child(Alison) is going to make me a grandpa for the first time this November, so that is why no kids can go. They know that it will be girl and they are naming her Lilly. I can hardly wait for her to go with us to WDW. They really want to go, but we all feel they can wait as year and then have "First Trip" family member. If have read my previous TRs you know my wife refuses to go back to WDW. We had a rough trip in August of 1995 and she is not going back. It is fine with all of us as my wife does'nt like theme parks and would hold us back.

On to my plan. I have never gone solo before and hope that it will be fun. I enjoy sharing the experience with my kids and then talking about the fun we had. I am looking forward to doing whatever I want, such as Beauty and the Beast and Lion King, two shows nobody has wanted to do with me. I have never see the China or France shows and will try to see these also.
I am taking advantage of the free dining, so making ADRs is another new experience. I have made them all on line and for the most part it was easy. Since my trip was booked on July 21, there is a short window of opportunity to make ADRs. I have heard such good things about Le Cellier and O'Hana they were my main goals, but I have yet to get a time. I do have Chefs De France, Teppan Edo, 50's, Biergarten, and 1900 Park Fair breakfast on my last day. I also have the food voucher for Planet Hollywood and enjoy eating there. I plan on using the snack credits for Dole Whips and want try the pretzel sticks at Goofy's. The one thing I do not like is having to be somewhere at a certain time. I enjoy wandering around and doing spur-of-the-moment things.
I am staying at Pop Century as I really like this resort. I do want to visit AKL and Wilderness Lodge as they look grand.
I am flying out of Springfield, MO and making a stop in DFW. I usually drive to WDW as I enjoy the scenery on the way, especially southern Tennessee around Monteagle. Those mountains rock. I have to fly because of a scheduling constraint. Although I am retired and do basically whetever I want, I have worked at our school's home football games for 33 years. I get to sit in the pressbox on the 50 yard line and tell the announcer who did what on the field. I also maintain the Public address system for the field. Football is very big here in Camdenton and I like working with the crew. The best deal on a room was for the next night (Saturday) and I can't make it that quickly by car. I will arrive in MCO at 2:50, so I can still get to the MK that evening.
I am looking forward to this trip and hope to see other Disr's in the parks.
