My BFF is getting married in Vegas end of this month and we just booked our trip yesterday. It was sort of a surprise- she has only been dating him for like 3 months. Anyhow- we got married in Vegas ourselves at Mandalay Bay in 2001 and we typically go out there every year, at least on mixed business/pleasure trips. I haven't been in over 2 years though since we had our son.

What are the newest latest and greatest lunch or dinner spots we should hit? We are looking for a nice lunch spot for after the wedding- she is getting married at 11:30am on a saturday at a chapel- we want a nice lunch and champagne toast somewhere. We might do the SW steakhouse at the Wynn for dinner that night (eaten there before). Any other recommendations?

Work is going to kill me though- I've already done the podcast cruise (6 days off), now vegas (2 days off), and then WDW in Dec (7 days off). Good thing we are so small they don't really even track our vacation time. :confused3:rotfl:

For some cheesy fun visit Madam Tussauds (sp?) A place I never thought about checking out, but had a blast there. You can get some awesome photos....like this one for example.

The steakhouse at Circus Circus was great. Really nice meal (wasn't impressed with the rest of Circus Circus but the steakhouse was fantastic)

Also would highly recomend the Phantom show at the Venetian. Without doubt one of the best shows I have seen. I could have no higher recomendation. Superb!

OMG those pictures are hilarious! Although I really thought my pic with my neck caught in the tiger's mouth at the Sigfried & Roy figures was tasteless until I saw your second photo.

And today I have to share some good news:

I just booked a flight to spend my 40th birthday in Vegas!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Don't miss the Margaritaville restaurant when your out there, the food is good but the atmosphere is incredible!!

I second the Phantom show. It was amazing!!

I'd also walk around the Venetian while you're there. The casino is fine, but the shopping areas and the gondala rides through the canals are incredible. It was definitely my favorite!

My favorite thing is to just walk around the various casinos. Paris is beautiful, as is the Bellagio. The NYNY is just cool to see.

Have a great time!

Don, those photos are very disturbing. I think I am going to have nightmares.:rotfl:

I got married in Las Vegas at the Bellagio. What a great place to get married.

One of my favorite places to eat in Las Vegas was Commander's Palace, but it closed. I also like going to the Salt Lick in Red Rock Casino. I know you don't live to far from Austin, but when we go to LV is our only chance to eat there.

I has been over a year since we have been there. I think I might have to plan a visit soon.

Where are you staying?

We love Jasmine at the Bellagio, great chinese food in a fine dining setting and you can see the fountains during dinner.

Picasso's at Bellagio is awesome

Hash House a Go Go is a great breakfast.

Viva Mercados is great Mexican food.

The Beatles Love

We thought it was fantastic! If you like Beatles music and Cirque du solei then this is the show to see!

Check out www.lvol.com for trip reports and dining guides. I haven't been for over 5 years so I'm sure everything has changed. Also, www.lvrj.com might help as well.

I bet a Bellagio wedding was just beautiful!!! We are staying at the Monte Carlo- my BF is staying there, so we just went along, but got a high floor, strip view room. ;) I haven't stayed there yet, so looking forward to it. Like disney, i'd like to eventually stay everywhere.....so far i've done Golden Nugget, Horseshoe, Lady Luck, Flamingo (3x), Venetian (2x), Treasure Island (2x), Mirage, Caesar's, Sahara (2x), Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. I don't know that I can afford Bellagio, lol :) Caesars was my absolute favorite- it was on business and i was upgraded to this amazing room with a huge 'double' shower that could fit like 20 people in it! Only in vegas!

I think we have plans to go see BITE! if anyone has heard of it. Yeah, i have some weird friends- it is some risque vampire show. :rotfl: We also get free tickets to Lion King or a Cirque show with our package. DH won't do lion king (i'd love to see it!!!), and we have seen Mystere and O, so we might try Zumanity. Has anyone seen it? DH isn't much for shows, this one is more risque apparently, so I figured that might interest DH (see what a good wifey i am :lmao:).

The Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. Say hello to the twins for me lmao.
also P.F. Cangs at Plant Hollywood

Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas -- a great German restaurant with great entertainment. Good food and great beer.
