I usually experience Disney with my daughter or my Mom..both of whom love Disney only half as much as I do. I have always dreamed of going by myself but felt terribly selfish doing so....until I came up with this great solution:

I have visited Tara (DD) in Los Angeles three times since she's moved there in January. (She is not liking it so any pixie dust you can send her way is appreciated)...I have been focusing a lot of energy (not to mention money) on her so Disney was out. However...I found a great airfare for my trip end of April..and I just checked hotel rates as a matter of course..and since DH and I plan to go in January for our anniversary..an AP might be in order..

Long story short..I am flying into LAX, spending a day in the park all by myself! DD will meet me that night and she and I will have two days together at the parks before going back to her abode to spend a few days together there!!! I have been so stressed of late..The trip is a bit reckless moneywise but I figured it's cheaper than a stay at a mental institution and a lot more fun!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So happy for you!!!! Have you posted on the DL board yet? I had the best trip there earlier this month. It was so needed and very healing as well as buckets of fun.

Woo-Hoo for you! :goodvibes Have fun!

Now...shhhhhhh. Let me tell you a teensy weensy little secret -- some of DL's rides are a skoosh better than those at WDW -- Pirates immediately comes to mind and for whatever reason, I totally love the Winnie the Pooh ride @ DL (I think it's the location -- Kinda tucked away in the trees & bushes. never been on it at WDW -- Go Figure) They have really tasty sourdough sandwiches at the DTD adjacent to the California Bakery too.

p.s. -- my DD is thinking about making the move to LA also. It's probably there or NY. Realistically, she's probably going to have make a move to get anywhere in the recording business but the thought of her being so far from home's got me freakin'... Please consider some motherly Pixie Dust on its way!pixiedust:

Thanks for the pixie dust.
I appreciate it. Tara had spent a year in NYC too. But we have family there and so she felt "watched over". In L.A she is almost totally alone (her BF's there too..but they live apart)...I have spend many, many hours with her on the phone.

Maybe we can start a support group...Mothers of Children with Aspirations in Far Away Places

May I join? I'm an Aunt! LOL!

Rosie, I hope your DL visit is wonderful. You sure do sound like you need a nice break. Don't worry about the cost, heck! As my favorite auctioneer used to say, "It's only money!"

Seriously, just enjoy yourself and the time with your DD. {{{hugs}}}

Consider yourself one of us!!!!

Thanks..I will. It's just so unlike me...I consider myself such a practical person....this was just so impulsive. :rolleyes1
