I'm Going Bagless

Never could figure what the big deal is about bag check...an extra 5 minutes at the most...

I don't need much, but I sure as heck ain't honing to cram my pockets full just to eliminate bag check..even with just my camera, I happily go thru bag check....I'll wear a small hipster just for a few items, easily checked and then nothing weighing down my pants...

All we bring with us is the camera (which I carry in my hand - it's small enough to fit in my pocket but I'm always using it), lip balm, a couple of kleenex, a bit of cash, and some tylenol. No crammed pockets here.

The people we travelled with last time had a bag, and the day we waited for them we lost way more than 5 minutes - the time waiting in the bag line, then the time in lines when all those people got to the rides before us (not a problem during the day, but definitely noticeable at 9AM).

I agree!!!! A backsack with my 'stuff' is much more comfore to me then cramming stuff in my pockets. Phone, money, sunscreen, ChapStick, hand lotion. Etc. Bag line has never taken me more than 5/minutes...even at park open.

For the folks who said - what about sunscreen?

I go bagless all the time. I do take a small travel sunscreen in my pocket in order to re-apply. The little tiny ones do fit in a decent size pocket. I do wear shirts with short sleeves to cover a bit more and I am lucky that I can skip re-applying on my legs - they never tan or burn anyway - its just cancer protection.

Small coin purse with some cash and extra credit card, baggie with 4-6 ibuprofen tablets and a strand of dental floss, lip balm (winter only for me), sunscreen, phone. Water bottle in a collapsible carrier that attaches to a belt loop. Small camera in case on waistband (attached with clip so it can't fall off). Done.

It is hard to find women's shorts with decent pockets, admittedly. My favorite two pairs I ended up buying in the men's department. Men's black and tan colors are the same as women's! :)

See....that sounds miserable to me.

Ditto. I would rather have a small bag than a bunch of stuff jammed into by pockets. To me, that is uncomfortable!

:thumbsup2

Going bagless is one of the goals for the next trip, for me its not the by passing of the bag line but the skipping on the shoulder pain is what I am all about. Honsetly we don't mind spending money on drinks and other small things we might need.
YEP YEP YEP that and not having to deal with it all trough the parks!!! Where is it? can I take it on the ride? will it fit in the bad holder? Glad to be bagless:cool1:

no big deal. just a choice I made, sounds like a good one by some other people who have tried it.::yes::

Oddly enough, theme parks are the only place I don't go bagless! I'm forty years old and I've never carried a purse. I'm actually quite baffled as to what other women even put in them. I have a tiny change purse that fits my cards and a bit of cash and my three keys on a small chain. In winter I add lip balm. Of course it probably helps that I don't wear makeup, own a cell phone or carry snacks.

Theme parks, on the other hand are a different story. I may go bagless at home but I'm not usually out and about for ten hours at a time! I burn like crazy, so sunscreen is a must and I hate wearing sweaters or jackets around my waist. I love taking pictures and wouldn't want to go without a camera. I'd much rather bring in the food and drinks I like for a fraction of the cost. Even something like maps and entertainment schedules need to go somewhere. If my kid skins her knee I'd rather pull a bandaid from my bag than go all the way to a first aid station for something minor. What about sunglasses? Would you wear them inside?

Right now I probably carry too much, but my youngest is four and we travel with a stroller so it's east to chuck a big bag under the stroller for the day. When we leave the stroller behind I'll probably cut way back on what I bring, but I can't see myself ever going bagless in the parks.

I went bagless this last trip (just my husband and me), and it was WONDERFUL! I didn't carry much to begin with, so I tried it the first day and was hooked.
