Whew!! I'm so glad to be back home! 10 days in Orlando is a bit too much for us!

We did Universal first. We were there for 5 days. We had a blast!! We love both the HRH and RPR. I don't think I could ever go to Disney again without visiting Universal.

On to Disney... We stayed at CBR for 4 nights. CBR didn't thrill me. I had some problems with my room. I ended up checking out one day early. We then moved to CSR on our last night.

Well... We were "WOWed!!" This is a beautiful resort! Even my kids liked this resort more than CBR. We did the surrey bike. We swam in the big pool and the kiddie pool. The Dig Site play area was a big hit for my kids (4 and 6). We walked around a little bit and enjoyed the scenery. We stayed at Cabana 8B. Great location. Not too far from El Centro and not too far from the Dig Site. I found the "magic" here at this resort...just like I found the "magic" at the All Stars Resorts. Staying at CSR made up for my unpleasant stay at CBR.

I just wished I have checked out sooner at CBR so I could have had more time at CSR. Or even better...I wished I didn't bother with CBR. But that is ok...at least now I have something to compare.

CSR un-Disney? It is very Disney w/ convention or no convention and I am Disney fanatic just like you are. Would I be staying here again?...Most definitely!

Hi, I am staying at CS in Nov. and I am trying to get info. Can you tell me if there is a bus stop in front by El Centre and what way does the bus go around the resort?

Yes, there is a bus stop next to El Centro. The bus starts at Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas, then to El Centro. Then for drop of, they drop off at El Centro first then the last stop is at Cabanas.

If you have time to spend at the resort, do rent a surrey bike and and bike around the ground. You have to check out the Casitas and especially the Ranchos, I think you would appreciate this resort even more. It is a very nice resort. I think this place is very romantic especially at night. Again if you have time, walk around a little bit at night time, it is gorgeous.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to ride the bikes, that sounds like fun. Are there kids meals in the Pepper Market?

We only ate there one time for breakfast. If I read it on the menu board correctly....I don't remember having that many choices.

Theme park buses go:

2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

Buses go in this order, so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus, and take it to the front. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to thier room.

Hi Fantasia,

Welcome back! Please post your RPR and HRH reviews on the Universal forum!

We enjoyed CSR last fall. I agree it is beautiful, especially at night all lit up. Great photo ops. I think we were in the same Cabana. ? I would have to go look it up, but it was about in the middle of the Cabana section. They gave us a waterview upgrade.:D
Did you try a "wet burrito"? Yum...
Glad you are back and you and the kids enjoyed your trip.

Hi Fantasia!

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that you really enjoyed CSR--it's my favorite! Great review!

Welcome back *Fantasia*. Glad you enjoyed CSR. It truely is a great resort.

hi fantasia! i'm glad you had a great time. we also really enjoed csr when we stayed there last year. :)

if you don't mind me asking, what kinds of problems did you encounter at cbr?

Glad you liked CSR!!!!! It really is a beautiful place!!! When we were there, said to my DH that I wouldn't mind staying there all the time and forgetting about the deluxes!

So glad you had a great time and can't wait now! I was a little hesitant about booking this resort initially but had stayed at CBR 5 years ago and wanted to try something different.

I have a question about the refillable mugs... how much are they and can they be refilled at the snack bar at the Dig Site or only the Pepper Market?

Lenore

The refillable mugs are running about $12 this year. they can be filled at the dig site cabana as well as pepper market.

The more posts I read about CSR, the more glad I am that we were not able to get into POR. This will be our first time at a moderate and were originally trying to get into POR, but no discounted rooms (Military).
After checking out the photos of the rooms and the maps on Deb's Page (WDWIG), we decided to try the CSR.

I keep checking out the posts and so far have seen nothing but praise for it. I truly can't wait until Nov now. I think we are really going to enjoy ourselves.

DD (16) has even offered to pay for her own refillable mug (Oh My Gosh!!!!) But she really wants to help make this trip affordable for all of us. :)

My mother always raised me to be independant, and to work hard to earn the things that I want... All too often down here, I hear the "buy me this, I want that" etc. so it's really nice to hear things like that... It might be a little item, but it's a big gesture. :)

I have to admit that your post and some pics that I recently saw of CSR made me more interested in it. My youngest child will be 5 when we go there. He will need to swim with one of the lifejackets. He was allowed to go down the POFQ slide with a life jacket, but when we went to Disneyland last year, they didn't allow him to go down the slide at the DL Hotel.

Will he be allowed to go down the Dig Site slide with a life jacket?

Thanks.

Even though she is an only child, we have never "SPOILED" her like one of her friends. She understands that sometimes the money is just not there for everything. We do alot for her, but not too extreme. She usually earns her own spending money, but if she doesn't have alot, sometimes DH gives her a bit extra.

On a recent trip she saw a custom doll in Germany pavillion that she really wanted but didn't have quite enough for. So we made an arrangement that I would get it and she would pay me back. She did so right away. So I am very proud of her.
