I know, what's up with that? I wish everyone would withhold their personal stories until they know who this person is.

I think the joke is referring to a thread last week that disappeared. It was something like this;

A married woman, lives in a small town, having an affair with "friend", husband travels on business, loveless marriage, staying together for the kids, no one else knows about it, she wants to confide in friends about "them". Married woman was a long time poster using a new dis identity. I read it in the morning, it was gone with out a trace that evening.

If this is real and you leave her you better make damn sure you get those kids. My dad and mom got divorced, my mom was an alcoholic and got custody. I went through 5 years of abusive hell. Get the kids. Lay whatever foundation for making that happen you need to. Talk to an attorney and start documenting everything you can. Don't leave your kids.

I get that part, but I don't get the jumping to the conclusion that this is a joke just because they are a newer poster.

My radar goes on because this is a Disney board. Not exactly the place to come for a problem like this. Why not go to an Alcoholics Anonymous or some such board for help?

Really???? People come on the COMMUNITY board for a whole variety of reasons and with a whole variety of issues. Alcoholism has most certainly cropped up before as have infidelity, infertility, death, addictions, education, religion and politics (thought the last two no longer). there are certainly better places to go for ALL of those topics but yet nobody mocks the OP who starts those topics...well, strike that...I'm sure mocking has been done.


If one has nothing helpful or constructive to say on a delicate topic such as this, then simply say nothing. Mocking and rudeness is never acceptable.

Well, I know when I have a crisis..the first thing I personally do is post a vague , short, cryptic message on a theme park forum without elaborating on my situation, asking for advice, or coming back to answer the skeptics...but thats just me.

I am so sorry.

My father was an alcoholic. He came home one night drunk and fell asleep, dropping his cigarette on the floor. (My Mom was in the hospital and I was staying with family.) He totally burned down our house and died in the fire.

I was 10.

How very sad. I'm so sorry.

But I have seen many trolls lately and I don't see signing up here, never talking about Disney, vacations, etc. and then posting something like this.

I'm not saying rudeness is acceptable, but neither is "playing" with people or their emotions.

Looks like the first thing you'd do is start a thread mirroring the one in question for no other reason than to mock somebody with a problem. Gee...can't figure out why he hasn't come back.

Also, check the header. This is NOT the THEME park forum. It's a COMMUNITY forum.

When I have a problem, I have very often run to the DIS community for advice and solace. There is a wealth of experience to draw from here, so long as one can suffer the slings and arrows. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, when my fridge broke and we were BROKE (A DIS'er actually offered me a fridge), when I have had assorted family disputes.

I think maybe the PTB should consider cleaning house again. It's getting VERY dirty in here again.

I refuse to feed the trolls. There are no details, a very short posting history. I'm surprised how many here are giving intimate details of their own lives to someone like this.

I understand that, I have NOTHING against posting questions , frustrations, problems on a community board. This a great place to get info from. What my problem is that this is smelling so much like a troll here I'm surprised I don't see gnomes or night elves coming over.. (WoW reference there )

Who posts something so short and cryptic and then just leaves? IF they were TRULY looking for support , wouldn't they have elaborated more? Or at least ask for advice, pandpd, what would u do...etc etc etc... Or at least come back to confirm/deny accusations and further elaborate?

The people I feel sorry for are the ones who posted deeply personal responses with someone who obviously didn't need/want any by there response to their own thread...or lack there of...
