I'm doing it again.. Tinkerbelle Surprise

We are fortunate enough that my kids have year round school; they have off the last 2 wks in Sept. We are also fortunate to live 45 min. from Disney. This enables us to go every year for 1 wk w/ no crowds . This yr we will be getting free dining. .

I look forward to this trip more then any vacation we take during the summer. I start planning as soon as we get back from our Sept. DW vacation.

OK here's my problem my kids have so much Disney Junk ( I hope I don't affend anyone)!!
But I love the idea of TInkerbelle leaving them gifts every night, This year I said (to myself) no more tinkerbelle presents. Well I need DA , because I can't control myself!!
DisneyShopping had a sale and I started collecting more Disney Junk, don't get me wrong the kids will have an awesome time recieving them, and I love to see their faces when they open it. It will be worth every penny. But then we come home and it's stored till we got to Disney again (don't forget we live near Disney so we go about once or twice a month) and then they want more stuff or is do they (you see it's me who wants to get it for them, they only want pins). I'm addicted.

How do you stop from buying things at Disney? Since Tinkerbelle is leaving them gifts.
I know leave your CC at home, but I need it for emergencies .

Can't help you because I'm in the same boat! THis July will be our 5th trip to Disney in three years - I'm running out of ideas. I can't help myself either and I wouldn't even begin to know how to explain it to the kids that Tinkerbelle just stopped coming.

I bought tons of stuff at the Disney store sale and I was able to get some "princess" things at Justice for girls, princess and "Cars" things at the dollar store, and t-shirts (Customized - including high school musical ones) at Disney shopping.com.

I think we need a support group!

disneymomx7, are you telling me their is CARS suff at The dollar store? Good thing its Fathers Day tommorow. or I would have to go to THe DOllar store.

Who cares if my girls don't really appreciate the merchandise. Its $1. and its Disney so they will get it.

I think it is awesome that you want to spread a little magic to your kids, however how about maybe teaching them the how awesome it could be to spread the magic to someone else? Maybe instead of gifts you could have Tink leave cash... then explain that you want to help "sponsor" someone else to go to WDW. Half of the money they get they can spend how they choose and the other half can go to a charity of your choice (maybe Make a Wish and specify it to go to a kid who want to go to WDW). Or what about taking the money and buying a goodie somewhere in WDW and giving it as a gift to someone else? A balloon or a Mickey Bar could make some little kid VERY happy! Or maybe you could buy postcards and send them to our troops in the Middle East?
I totally hope you do not think I am putting you down for giving many gifts. And I tend to spoil my kiddo once in awhile too. But I also try to balance that out with saving money for a rainy day OR giving back to those who might have to go without! Plus you all are VERY lucky (and I am VERY jealous) to live so close to WDW. Being able to go on a pretty regualr basis is special in its own right.
Anyway, whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a great time!

Thought of one more thing.... maybe have a yard sale and get rid of the stuff in storage or just sitting in the toy box. You could then do the charity thing or let the kids have their own spending money. When they run out of cash.... the "stuff" buying stops.
