I'm confused! (Not unusual...)

I'm thinking of a suprise spring trip. There's myself and four dd's, 3, 5, 10 & 11. The 3 yo is still in a crib at home. (She loves her crib! And I'll want to have her one while visiting, too.) What are our possibilities as far as resorts/rooms? I don't think we're allowed in a standard room any longer, w/ the youngest having just had her 3rd birthday.

I think you can stay at Port Orleans Riverside in Alligator Bayou with a trundle bed. The 3 year old might enjoy the trundle. ??
AKL is a great resort, you might have to go for the deluxe room there. We had a regular savannah view room and there was a Pack and Play in the closet! We had a queen and a bunk bed(we have a DS and DD).
I am not sure how it works for sure with 1 adult and 4 kids. I think the "5" rule still applies. But POR can hold 5. The rooms at CR are HUGE, 2 queens and a daybed.

First how was your November trip...hope you and the girls had a wonderful trip.

"Cribs" at WDW resorts are pack and plays (or that is all i'v scene)so if you want a regular crib you might have to rent from an offsite place...(is this possible??)

The trundle or day bed option might work...or maybe an air mattress on the floor....

We have 3 children, so I know your dilemma. My DH and 2 DS's no longer want to go, so just my DD and I now.

If memory serves, the only moderate that will allow 5 people in one room is POR, with a trundle. If that is not your choice, most of the deluxe resorts allow 5 people in one standard room, 2 beds and 1 daybed. We stayed in the BWI (std. view) and the Poly (garden view) with 5, these were both the lowest priced rooms for that resort. I believe BibbidiBobbidiBOO is right, at AKL you would have to book a deluxe room to have a daybed, as they're std rooms are slightly smaller than the other deluxe resorts.

BTW, is you plan on booking "room only," you and your children will be considered just that - 1 adult and 4 children. However, if you plan to book a pkg. Disney will consider one of the children and adult, as they have a 2-adult policy for their pkg. prices. This caused me some confusion when I took 2 of my children by myself and used the Dream Maker pkg. a couple of years ago!

My 3 yr. old still sleeps in her crib too I had asked the same question and was told that it has something to do with building fire codes.?? We ended up making a reservation at POR in the Alligator Bayou section that has the trundle bed. One of my older children will probley sleep in it. (ds10 dd8)

We have heard really good reviews about POR and are looking forward to staying there. I figure even if it's a little cramped we won't be spending much time in the room anyway.

Thanks for the info, everyone! I didn't know POR had trundle beds! We've stayed there before and enjoy the property very much. (Find me one I Don'T like!)

There has been mention of an offsite locale that rents baby equipment and they come highly recommended. The trundle will probably do best for the few days I'm thinking of staying there.

Funny, I did see someone rolling a wooden slatted type crib into a building one day last December. I can't recall if it was in the GF or the Poly though, and I just assumed it was a resort CM wheeling it in, although perhaps it was an off-site place...? I noticed it because it seemed so quaint and old fashioned to see a crib like that, LOL, and I remember thinking, wow, there must be a lot of demand for cribs this week, their dragging out the old stuff!

I believe that the Wilderness cabins hold six people, they might work out nicely for you.

Two rooms at a value resort would give you two bathrooms and extra space. I believe that some of the connecting rooms at Pop Century connect a king room and a 2-double room.

I don't know anything about DVC, but you might be able to rent points for bigger, multi-bedroom accomodations. I'm sure one of the experts would be able to chime in and let you know more about it.
