I'm clueless, what is a lanyard?

A lanyard is a thing that you wear around your neck to put your pins on.:earseek:

a lanyard is also something kids usually make at camp. They usually take 3 or 4 plastic strings and do some kind of braiding to them and usually use them for keychains and such. But if your talking in Disney terms its like disneyfreak says, its like a belt/sash around your neck for pins.:yo-yo:

Hey, not just for pins!

We don't do pins, but our whole family wears waterproof pouch lanyards at all times in the WDW parks. We use them to manage our room keys, park passes and FP's.

Technically speaking, any string, cord, etc. that you wear around your neck for utility purposes (as opposed to for decoration, like jewelry.) is a lanyard.

Hi 2cute4u, I'm new, too. Now that you know what they are, I'll add that they sell these everywhere at WDW and they are a big fad. We got into it when we were there in June. My DH promised the girls to buy a pin for them if they went on rides they weren't too sure about...worked like a charm. We have a small fortune invested in pins, particularly with the youngest, DD6. She spent all of her vacation/report card money on Nightmare Before Christmas (her favorite movie) pins. We even found a NBC lanyard at a video store in our mall after we got back. It hangs on the bedpost of her bed.
BTW, we are heading back in two weeks and youngest DD can't wait to get the rest of the collection she missed the first time!
