Hello, all! It's time for me to wander back to the board here as I'm in the thinking phase of planning a trip to DLR!

We are just back from this year's trip to WDW. Let me say, they are two different animals. While WDW is immersive, and many of it's fans dismiss DLR, there is something charming about Disneyland that draws me back.

I don't know about any of you, but I find the DLR boards to be kinder and gentler places than the ones for WDW. I've just started the report for day 4 of our 7 day trip on the Trip Reports board, and when that's finished I'll be back here full time!

Now, here's the rub. My boys, ages 7 and 12, told me this week that they'd rather go to Chicago next summer than make a return trip to Disneyland! I have to get to the bottom of this. I don't know if they've decided they prefer WDW to DLR or if they would just rather spread the trips out.

To be honest, I love Chicago, and while the boys have both been to DL and WDW, neither has been to Chicago. So, for now I am going to start planning that trip on one hand, and a DLR trip on the other. If we don't do Disneyland next summer, we'll do it in 2010 for sure!

To be honest, I was kind of looking forward to a trip to the beach, lol! Ah, well, if we do Chicago we may be able to make a stop by Kansas City and visit the friends we left behind last year. There are pros and cons either way.

To reintroduce myself I'll say that my family consists of myself, soon to be 46 and starting my 25th year teaching; my son Liam who will turn 13 this summer and is entering 7th grade; and my son Teiguen who just turned 7 and will be a second grader this fall.

If you want to know more about us, you can find my trip report on the WDW boards at this link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1849276.

We had out of town company from the time we got home until this past Saturday, so my trip report has been slow going. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish it up this week!

Beth
