I'm back! My surgery Wed Feb 13th

I know what a worrier I am, so I wanted to make sure people were updated, hope I'm not speaking out of turn.

I don't haev a lot of details, as Ted was exhausted when he relayed teh message, but here's teh jist of what I know.

1. Cancer was not found!

2. Unfortunately, they had to do more than hoped and surgery was harder and longer than hoped.

So, she'll probably take a bit longer to recover, but we all know she will come through this and be hitting the TM ASAP.

Many prayers of thanks that there was no cancer and continued prayers for an easy as possible recovery.

Oh wow...THANK YOU Carrie!!! I've been thinking about her all day and just sending those positive vibes. I'm sorry to hear the operation was more extensive but absolutely relieved that no cancer was found.

Lily do NOT be hard on yourself, take time all for YOU - let your body do what is needed to heal!! One small step at a time - dont overdue, - because you are so AWESOME and amazing, and such a competitor - you're going to want to get out here and show us how its done - and we'll stand in awe of you!! Hang in there!! Just let someone else do laundry for one month - ok?!! and vacuum - those are the 2 hardest chores on a woman's body!!

Lily -

I was thrilled to hear that you don't have to worry about cancer. Although it sounds as if the surgery was tougher than you expected it to be, which probably means the recovery won't be as easy as you hoped.

Remember to take things one day at a time. Don't be surprised if even the simplest tasks exhaust you at first. You will recover, but it always takes longer than you want it to take.

My Doctor gave me great advice. He said that come about day 3, I was going to want to get up and do something - anything. Probably something I shouldn't do yet. His suggestion was to wait until my pain killer wore off and then get up. Don't take the pain killer until you cry mercy and acknowledge that you must sit back down. He was afraid that if I moved around on the pain killers, that I would over do it. The first time I did this, I was up long enough to take a shower. The next day, I dried my hair too.
