I asked about Villa rentals before and well I need more help!

The party may be changing a bit (ok, a lot) - before it was myself, DH, pirate: 10, princess: 5, and princess: 2 along with DH's parents. Now the kids have decided that they must have their aunt and uncle and baby pirate: 8 months at the time of travel, along with their great aunt. Oh yeah, and they're working on my Mom too! So our party of 7 just went to 11 + baby, possibly 12 + baby if my step-dad decides to join in the insanity.

Travel is from February 10 - 24th, we'd like to keep the total price to under $2,000 (possible or no?!?!) We are all used to being very flexible with travel and sleeping arrangements so that is at the very bottom of the considerations.

I would like to be closer to Kissimmee since my Grandmother lives at the Good Sam Village there and we'd like to be able to go see her as frequently as possible.

I have looked through pages and pages of villas and feel like I'm getting no where, DHs grandmother passed away a week and a half ago so we haven't been bothering his mom and dad with any of the details and stuff, but if I could find a few houses in our budget area and show them those that would be a big help.

Still overwhelmed but still having fun too! :cheer2:

Hi, from the website for Good Sam Village it looks like it is located around the south end of Poincianna where it connects with Route 17. Some of the subdivisions in that area like Cumbrian Lakes and Cresent Lakes might be what you're looking for . Because they are 15 - 20 min from Disney they are less expensive but it would put you near GSVillage. Go to the VRBO site and try these at Cumbrian Lakes:#33164 and 84713 and these at Cresent Lakes: #62572 and 52745. I would give you the site address but can't but it's just VRBO dot com then a slash and the number. Good luck.

I think it's possible, but I'm not extremely picky. Some people like to have a bedrooms with a theme, etc. I just want a comfortable house with a screened pool. I prefer a gated community, but it's not a dealbreaker. I'd like a gameroom, but we've never gotten one.

That said, the last house I rented (middle of June, 2005) I paid $480 for a week for a 4BR/3BA (gated community) on Hwy.27 (Manors at Westridge). It had a spa along with the pool, but it wasn't heated (which we would have liked), but for the price, I wasn't complaining.

Narrow down what you're interested in, and don't be afraid to negotiate. Get the prices from the ones you like best. If they're over what you want to pay, make them an offer. Good luck!

I think it's a maybe for your budget....a little squeaky, for sure! :goodvibes

Thing is, you're going to be looking for a 6 bedroom home..??
During 2 weeks in February, over the holiday week...??

If budget is your only consideration, and the sleeping arrangements are at the bottom of your list, ie, twins in place of queens or kings, or folks on the pull-out in the living room, you just might have some wiggle room.

And if you're willing to go further "out" in Kissimmee, ie, down the I4 into Davenport, well...you just might find it :wizard:

We had a 5 bedroom in Davenport a few years ago for $1800, taxes and pool heat inc., for 2 weeks, but that was the 2002 - the winter after 9/11, and the house wasn't finished yet when we agreed to rent it.

You might have a little more luck with looking at 3/4 bedroom homes, or 2/3 townhomes/condos in the same neighbourhood.

Good luck, and let us know!!

:sunny:

Maybe this will help with finding the size home that you will need.
Any child under the age of 2 does not count as a person on your booking.

So if you have a house that sleeps 10 and you have 10 people from the age of 2 and up and one child under 2 then you can book a home that sleeps 10.

Thanks everyone!

We found a house :cheer2: they're cutting us a great deal and we just have to finish up the booking details then we're good to go! It's in Emerald Island and has plenty of room for everyone.
