I find your trip reports to be rude and condescending to say the least.

I feel the post you just wrote should have been directed via private PM to Jeff, rather than here. Just my opinion.

Whether or not you like his style of writing, or the truthfulness of his report, it takes a lot of time and dedication to finish a trip report. You certainly don't have to read it. I, for one, appreciate the level of truthfulness he has shared about his thoughts. Do I agree with all that he thinks? No. His comment about the guy in the ECV was identical to one my brother made during our last trip there, and we ended up in an argument about it, right there waiting for a Magic Kingdom bus. Do I appreciate the fact that Jeff has the guts to post here what he was thinking at the time, knowing he
might get flamed? Absolutely. It gives insight to who the writer is and what his experience was. I'm glad he didn't leave it out.

And, as for "patting himself on the back".... I think you've misinterpreted that a bit. I plan my trips to the letter as well, and I too, am proud that I don't stand in line. I also pointed out my great planning system to my family at least a hundred times, not so much for praise, but more to show to them the efficiency of a good touring plan, and that's what I interpret in Jeff's writing as well. It takes a lot of time and effort to plan well, and it is a great feeling to figure out the system and bypass the hoardes. I don't think Jeff is disdainful of the masses of people who don't plan well; he;s proud of the fact that he has planned and figured it out and is probably trying to convey to others that with planning, they too can have a great, efficient trip and not spend an entire day in the park waiting in lines.

I plan to keep reading, so Jeff, keep them coming!

I loved your report! It did occur to me when reading that there were certain bits that I just knew you were going to get flamed about and another poster said it right that it is a choice to read or not, and no one says that you have to agree with the writers opinion, but please respect that it took time and effort to write a report of such a high calibre, irrespective of its subject content.

I truly enjoy your writing style, find it easy to read, love the photo links and the detail with which you write. Going off to find the next part...

Everyone has a "first trip" and NOT everyone owns a computer to access these boards for tips. You seem to look down on anyone who waits on a line, uses a wheelchair or carriage, or gets in your way. Children annoy you yet you pick Disney for your vacations. Doesn't your arm hurt from always twisting it to pat yourself on the back? And Sally must have had a headache from the way you were always patting her on the head like a puppy.

I apologize for feeding the fire but allow me to retort.

OMG. I've seen it all on here now. It's just a trip report! I'm not pushing my views on anyone nor is this an instruction booklet on how you should go about taking your vacation to WDW. This is a very personal account of my experiences and feelings while travelling throughout the parks. This is also an HONEST report versus one that is sugarcoated and dripping with cuteness and sweetness. However, I do think they are many tender moments contained within all of my reports.

Well-behaved children don't annoy me in the least. If you read my April reports you would have noticed many special moments we had with other people's children. Rude or annoying people bug me and crowds / lines really annoy me. That's why I, and others, choose to do a lot of planning and put tons of thought into avoiding them. That's just a personal preference. You are welcome to tour the parks as you see fit. Some of my experiences and strategies are revealed in order to possibly help others that would like to avoid crowds as well. And, yes, I do feel a bit proud and excited when I am going the opposite way of those 5,000 people seen bottlenecked and trapped into a frenzy of activity.

And what is this comment about Sally??? Patting her on the head like a puppy?? What in the heck does this have to do with the price of peanuts in Ireland?? Sounds like someone doesn't get the same attention from their partner and really needs some. That was just flat out rude and obnoxious. There is nothing wrong with someone being supportive of another. A tear forms in Sally's eyes almost every time we reminisce about our special time spent together at WDW and she was overwhelmed with the care, planning, and investment I out into our trip.

Yes, PM me if you have a personal problem with my writing style or with what I have to say within my trip reports. Be an adult about it. I am going to stay honest here and exercise my freedom of speech. I think people prefer honesty to twisted accounts. We get enough of those from the media every single day.

Quit taking things so seriously. This board is meant to be fun. Yeah, my humor may be a bit DRY at times but at least I am trying to make these long reads a bit more entertaining than....I got on the ride....I ate a burger....I got on another ride....I saw some fireworks and boy, I was really tired afterwards so I got on a bus and went to sleep at the hotel.

I spend hours upon hours putting these reports together and editing them in hopes that people will read them and be entertained by them. I , too, read reports on here filled with stuff I don't necessarily agree with but I still reply and thank them for taking the time to contribute. No matter what they contain, they are fun to read and I think they help us all through those times we aren't vacationing.

Please don't let some idiot stop you from posting your trip reports as you normally would. Do I agree with everything you've said, well no but then I don't agree with everything anyone says. That said I really enjoy reading your reports!! I would rather read someone's honest opinion on what they saw/did than read a report that has been edited to escape public opinion. I for one plan on seeking out some of those passage ways you mentioned on my upcoming trip. Great reports please keep them coming waiting patiently, or maybe not so patiently for day 3.

BTW - You really seem to know quite a bit about BTMR and Space Mountain. As someone who is considering giving them a shot because DS wants to could you tell me if a real ride chicken could handle this one? I hate roller coasters becaues of the drop not the speed and are concerned about these two. Thanks for any help!

Thanks guys. I really don't want to offend anyone but I really don't want to be a phoney either. I truly mean well. Like da gangsta's say, "keepin it real!" Laff.

Space Mountain and BTMRR are easily do-able even if you don't like roller coasters. Neither of them are too intense...they are just fun. Space Mountain doesn't even travel over 28 MPH. It's the darkness that adds the real thrill...you don't know when the turns are coming. The drops on SM are short and sweet. Nothing bad at all.

Here's an odd fact...can't remember if I read it on this board but BTMRR reaches its highest speed when it is HOT out. During hot weather the viscosity of the grease lessens and it can travel up to 4 MPH faster than usual. I think it maxes out at around 34 or 36 MPH but the average is 32MPH. I could be wrong on this though. Someone sound off if they have more accurate info. The drops on BTMRR are slightly larger than SM but it mostly does long spiralling turns at speed. The theming, especially at night, make this ride a must-see in my book. It has definitely stood the test of time. A true classic.

Go for it! You'll be glad you did.

Hey J...

Glad to find your report, I was just looking for it last week but I must have missed it. I so enjoyed reading your last one that I've been eagerly awaiting this one.

I find that the weather at WDW is alot like the weather here in our mutual hometown, and I can't think of any reason I would subject myself to being mostly outside all day every day here at home for 6 days in a row, but that's why we usually go in Fall or Winter.

We have 2 trips planned now, one in September with the family (11 of us!)with a split stay Pop/AKL, then again in January, just the 2 of us for 5 nights at BWV. No solo trips yet, but with the 2 of us it's almost the same...usually like to do the same things and cover alot of ground.

Can't wait to keep reading...

Alright, here is a question......I have been going crazy trying to figure out how you got such high angles on some of your Epcot pictures...for example the one in front of MS and the one in front of TT....I think there was also one going into WS. It would seem you were using some kind of tripdod....but the angle just seems too high up. What was your secret? Thanks.
